As we enter into the final week of summer vacation for the kids of our community, we want to pause and send a HUGE THANK YOU to all the who hosted Summer Camp this year. Day after day, week after week, your staff showed up for the kids of Niagara, bringing incredible enthusiasm, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Through NCF's Summer Camp Grant Program, we were able to support 21 organizations to provide bursaries for 397 kids to attend camp this summer. This impact is massive and only made possible through our incredible charity partners.

August is Black Philanthropy Month, a world-wide campaign to uplift Black voices in our community and deepen our understanding of philanthropy.

NCF Mini Grants have been distributed and it's so wonderful to see the impact that these grants will bring to our ! Congrats to all the worthy recipients.

We’re excited to share that Cave Springs Camp is a proud recipient of a Niagara Community Foundations Mini Grant program. This funding will help us upgrade computers, printers and technology for our Directors Cabin – a dedicated space for our camp team to plan, organize and run camp and programs! Thank you to Niagara Community Foundation for supporting our camp operations!

Last week we hosted "Niagara's Green Scene: A Gathering of Niagara's Environmental Organizations." With over 50 people in the room, it was an energizing and inspiring afternoon.
Like many sectors, environmental work can feel like you're just a drop in the bucket. But when you gather together and see all the efforts coming together, you notice that together, you are making a collective impact that is saturating the ground. We are grateful for everyone who showed up, shared their ideas and brought energy to the event.

Day of Giving Niagara update

On Wednesday August 12, seven local radio stations promoted Day of Giving Niagara, raising $42,000, with Niagara Community Foundation, the proceeds of which are being directed towards Feed Niagara to assist those impacted by the recent flooding in the region.

ICYMI! Last week we were thrilled to share an example of intent turning into impact. The late David S. Howes set six granting priorities within the intentions of his fund. When grant recipients are selected, it is our job - as the stewards of these intentions - to ensure that the charity recipients are addressing these priorities. The project at the Niagara College Dental Clinic is an incredible example of just that. Check out this video to learn more.
