Join Niagara's Paramedics, Dispatchers, and OT's as we rally for the ncreased resources, retention, and respect needed to protect emergency medical services and residents in our community.

We are calling on elected officials, labour organizations, community groups, and residents across Niagara to stand with the frontline professionals who answer the call on your worst day.

✅ Better Resources

✅ The Respect Frontline Workers Deserve

Strong emergency services mean safer communities. Help the people who are there for Niagara 24/7.

What Do Downstaffed Ambulances Mean for Niagara Residents?

🚑 It can mean only one paramedic is assigned to an ambulance, unable to transport a patient to hospital alone.

OR

🚑 It can also mean no paramedics are available to staff an ambulance, leaving it parked in a garage and unavailable when the community needs it most.

These are the real consequences of staffing shortages. These shortages happen more than people think, right here in Niagara. The solutions are clear: Resources. Retention. Respect. We need competitive compensation, adequate staffing, and the support necessary to keep experienced frontline professionals serving Niagara.

Now is the time to make your voice heard. Contact your Regional Councillors and tell them you support Niagara's Frontline Paramedics, Dispatchers, and Occupational Therapists. Our community deserves an EMS system which is always fully staffed and ready every second of every day.

Niagara Residents Made Their Voices Heard. Will Regional Council Listen?

A new poll shows overwhelming public support for addressing the paramedic and dispatcher staffing crisis and improving emergency response in our community.

The solutions are known. The need is urgent. The time for action is now.

Retention. Resources. Respect.

Because when you call 911, help shouldn't have to wait.

This Paramedic Services Week, we’re recognizing the people behind the patch - and speaking honestly about what it takes to deliver the care our communities deserve.

Better patient outcomes don’t happen by chance. They start with properly staffed services, experienced paramedics, safe working conditions, and the resources to do the job right.

Respect for paramedics has to mean more than appreciation posts once a year.

Paramedics deserve support that lasts all year long. ❤️🚑

🌹🎉 To All Paramedics, Dispatchers, and Occupational Therapists: Thank you. 🙏

Every single day, the incredible members of CUPE 911 answer the call. And let’s be honest, this work is a calling in itself. It isn’t done for the accolades, the spotlight, or the recognition. It's done because these members care, even when the shifts are long, the situations are critical, and the sacrifices are heavy.

Thank you to the reassuring voices on dispatch lines guiding people through their hardest moments. Thank you to the paramedics on the front lines providing life-saving care. Thank you to the occupational therapists helping patients reclaim their independence and recover. Each one of you are the backbone of our community's health and safety and play a crucial part in bridging some massive gaps within our healthcare system.

Saying "thank you" is just a small token of appreciation for everything you give to keep Niagara safe and supported.

We see you. We value you. We are profoundly grateful for you. 💙

480 overdose calls in just 4 months!

That’s 480 moments where paramedics and dispatchers answered the call without hesitation. Let's be honest! The opioid crisis is not slowing down.
-->Call volumes are rising.
-->Pressure continues to grow.

And the people responding to these emergencies cannot be expected to do more with less.

Behind every call is:
--> a patient in crisis
--> a family affected
--> a crew stretched thinner
--> another high-pressure emergency added to an already overloaded system

With bargaining well underway, messaging has been made clear. CUPE 911 is not asking for luxury. We are asking for what every community deserves:
--> Retention Strategies to keep skilled paramedics
--> Improved Resources like mental health supports and better working conditions
--> Respect for the work being done on the front lines
(wage parity to other first responders)
--> Improved Safety for all residents

Investment in EMS is investment in public safety. Investment in EMS saves lives.
Resources. Retention. Respect.
Because when EMS is in crisis, the entire community feels it.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures in our lives and communities! 🌹

Every mother’s journey is different, but all share the same powerful ability to provide guidance, love, support, and strength that helps shape the next generation to succeed.

Whether you’re serving on the front lines as a paramedic dispatcher, occupational therapist, or are supporting a loved one who works in emergency services, your resilience, sacrifice, and ability to adapt and overcome challenges is a true testament to your strength.

Today, we celebrate everything you do! Both seen and unseen.

Happy Mother's Day!

💐 We hope you have a wonderful and well-deserved day. 💐

The Ask: Invest In Emergecy Medical Services!

The data is clear.
The pressure is real.
And the demand is only growing.

CUPE 911 members in Niagara are being asked to do more, with less.
That’s not sustainable.

It’s time to act:
✅ Hire and retain more paramedics
✅ Improve working conditions
✅ Provide fair compensation
✅ Invest in the system that supports them

Because this isn’t just about paramedics, dispatchers and OT's.

It’s about:
⏱️ Faster response times
🏥 Better patient outcomes
💙 A safer community for everyone
Niagara deserves a system that’s ready! Not one that’s reacting.

Tell your local councillors an dell decision-makers:
Invest in paramedics. Invest in Niagara.

🚨 The Breaking Point

Niagara’s healthcare system is under extreme pressure, and Emergency Medical Services are feeling it every shift.

We are reaching a point where the system can’t keep up.

What does that look like?
⏱️ Longer response times
🏥 Overwhelmed hospitals
📉 Worse patient outcomes
🔥 Rising burnout and staff loss

This isn’t hypothetical.

It’s happening right now.

And without real investment and support, the consequences will only get worse.

🚑 When emergency medical services are stretched too thin, the entire community feels it.

We’re at the breaking point.

The question is, what are WE going to do about it?
