From Boston Pizza to A&W, fed up people peacefully protested against Doug Ford today on Glendale Avenue in St. Catharines. Union members from every sector in the province, community organizations, labour movements, health coalitions, CUPE councils, MPP Wayne Gates, and Candidate Anne-Marie Zammit, (and more!) all had something to say about Doug‘s failure to lead the people of Ontario, responsibly, feasibly, and ethically.

Locals 4156, 1317, 4207, 1287, 9102, , , to name a few… AND - Amazing support from the cars driving by! Thank you all for your honks and hollers! Together we are stronger!!

And Together, We are demanding our province back.
We are all Done with Doug.

Dougie’s report card is a big FAIL.

We’re DONE with DOUG.

Doug Ford has consistently shown he’s not on the people’s side. It’s time to stand up for our rights and for those who cannot.

Niagara CUPE Council’s first Women Rising education event! I am so thankful for the opportunity to organize this weekend and grateful for these amazing women that are here.

Now more than ever, it is so important that we re-weave and re-thread our connections and relationships with one another.

Aside from the fact that We are living in a chaotic and contentious world, we’ve all experienced firsthand the sexism, anti-trans rhetoric, homophobia, ableism, and racism that surrounds us.

Many of us are feeling depleted, alone, isolated, alienated, unsupported, and also numb. We know that this is an intended implication of heterosexist capitalism.

And yet, there are many women who blast through this somehow. They mediate the pain and chaos and continue to show up, do the work, and support other women. Some of those women are spoke to us this weekend and shared their stories of struggle, support, and success.

Many thanks to .lainger
You are all true leaders. 🩷

We need to keep coming together and standing together. We need to make space and create space for women and their lived experiences. We want to take up space and have our voices heard.

So again, I appreciate these women being here and joining us in this weekend of women’s strength, voice and leadership because when we show up, s**t gets done. And when the s**t hits the fan, we show up for each other. Sisters in Solidarity!

Many thanks,
🩷TK

Congratulations to our new CUPE Ontario President Yolanda McClean, and our new Secretary Treasurer of Dawn Bellerose!!!

We are making history today, folks!

Yolanda McClean is the first education worker and the first Black woman to be elected president of CUPE Ontario, which represents more than 300,000 members working in the public sector.

Dawn Bellerose is the first Indigenous woman to be elected as CUPE Ontario Secretary Treasurer!

Yolanda and Dawn are fierce advocates for the working class. They will stop at nothing to ensure that our rights are protected, not only as workers but as human beings.

Many thanks to everyone who ran in the elections. Your hard work and dedication has not gone unnoticed. And, we look forward to working with you as well.

TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER!!
