According to Patricia Maloney of Run With Life, who uses the Freedom of Information to access data on abortion in Canada, CIHI reports that in 2023-2024, there were 1,315 (late term abortions) deaths by abortion of children in the womb after 20 weeks gestation. 123 of these babies were born alive. These babies were aborted but survived it, only to die outside the womb. Aren’t they considered persons once outside the womb? The law says so.

What if the mother’s life is in danger?

Abortion is never medically necessary to save the life of the mother. Most life-threatening health risks happen during the last trimester of pregnancy. At this point, the option would be either a 3-day abortion procedure or an emergency c-section. The emergency c-section
would be faster and safer for the woman.

Sometimes, doctors need to deliver the child early in order to save the life of the mother. Early delivery, even if that means being unable to save the child, is not the same as abortion, which is the direct and intentional ending of the child’s life.

protected from death by lethal injection is for Bill C-218 to become law.
