A lifelong resident, Sophia is currently pursuing a BA in Political Science at Sophia is passionate about sustainable community development and is excited to spend the summer supporting initiatives that help Downtown thrive.

Join us on Wednesday, July 1, as we celebrate Canada Day and 150 years of St. Catharines at Montebello Park! 🇨🇦

Enjoy a full day of family fun, including a collaborative community art project and live painting, a life-sized LEGO lounge, super-sized inflatable games, a bubble zone, character visits from Jessie, Woody, Rex and Buzz Lightyear, a strolling magician, local food trucks, craft beverages, and more.

🎶 Family programming begins at noon, with live music throughout the day and a headline performance by The Trews at 8:15 p.m.

🚌 Free shuttle buses will run continuously from Seymour Hannah Sports & Entertainment Centre to Montebello Park beginning at noon and continuing until 11 p.m.

🎆 End the night with the STC 150 Canada Day Drone & Fireworks Show at 10 p.m., with the official viewing area at Rennie Park.

Looking for a place to catch the FIFA action? Amaras Cafe will be streaming FIFA matches on their patio, making it the perfect spot to cheer on your favourite team while enjoying great food and drinks. ⚽️🍹

Armineh and her mother started Amaras Cafe three years ago. It was created with one goal in mind: bringing people together. Inspired by her lifelong passion for coffee, Armineh started the cafe at a young age and has built a welcoming space that reflects her Armenian roots.

Their menu features everything from baklava, falafels, chicken shish kebabs, and Middle Eastern coffee to fresh pastries and handcrafted lattes.

And if you stop by on a Friday, you might be treated to a special performance by Armineh herself. An award-winning jazz singer, she often fills the patio with live music during their Friday BBQs, creating the perfect summer atmosphere.
