The incredible women of CAA Niagara rolled up their sleeves, dug in, and made a real impact during their Women Build Day!

From building decks and front porches to filling in dirt around concrete footers, the team took on some seriously heavy work—and got it done with determination and teamwork. 💪🏡

Women Build Days empower teams of women to learn new construction skills, connect with one another, and give back to their community in a meaningful way. We are so grateful to the CAA Niagara team for their hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to helping local families build a brighter future.

Thank you for making a difference, one shovel, 2x4 and porch at a time!

Plus, thanks to Johanna, our Habitat site host volunteer for taking care of the team for the day!

The DKI - Miller Restoration team had a fantastic day on the build site, working alongside one of the future homeowners, learning new skills, and strengthening their team!

Their team was busy grading the lot and preparing the property for driveways and sod as we move one step closer to welcoming families home.

People often say, “Must be nice to get a free home.” The reality is quite different.

Habitat homeowners go through an in-depth qualification process and purchase their homes at fair market value with no down payment and with an affordable mortgage. Before becoming homeowners, they also complete 500 volunteer hours with us, including workshops on financial literacy, home maintenance, the mortgage process, partnerships and more.

These workshops are designed to help set families up for long-term success in homeownership.
