Abbey was spending time with friends when they found a lump on her throat. She then began her journey with the Walker Family Cancer Centre, a journey that ended in her helping raise over $5,000 for our local cancer care.

Today is World Cancer Day, an international day recognized to raise awareness about cancer, promote prevention and early detection, and advocate for cancer care and research.

The Big Move Cancer Ride is focused on raising funds to ensure patients at the Walker Family Cancer Centre have access to the most up-to-date equipment, allowing them to receive exceptional care close to home here in Niagara. These funds also support the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to provide the best possible care for our loved ones during treatment.

Each year, Surahbi and her husband, Dr. Satish Chawla, take part in the Big Move Cancer Ride, raising thousands of dollars for the Walker Family Cancer Centre. In recognition of their efforts, both were inducted into the Platinum Peddlers last year after raising over $10,000 each. As proud members of the Niagara Health Cancer Crushers team, they continue to advocate for cancer care in our community.
