Word from the Pastor

This week our theme is God proves his love for us. Our relationship with God is grounded firmly on grace, as a gift; it is not something we earn. Grace is God’s generous love that gives forgiveness, new life, and strength — before we deserve it and apart from our performance. And grace is grounded in what Jesus has already done for us in his life, death, and resurrection. This is such good news! From our sermon last week we looked at Abraham and the special relationship he had with Melchizedek our high priest. We are currently in the “Church Era” of God’s plan of salvation, we were live under this grace that is a precious gift. Let’s continue to give all of our hearts, minds and souls to Him as we go “deeper, deeper and deeper” in this relationship.

See you this Sunday for worship, followed by a celebration of life for Olive Saint, then a catered lunch afterwards.

This week we will get a treat from our 🇨🇩 Congolese members. Everyone is invited to wear bright African clothing. We will also be treated to some African delights. I’m looking forward to their presentation, food, and customs. I have a little surprise and fun packed into the sermon, so we invite all people to come this Sunday and celebrate our Congolese members. The sermon will talk about God’s promise to Abraham. I will also dig into the word: Recapitulation. This is a theme or motif that God uses through out the whole salvation story. And what an amazing story that is. Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday.

Word from the Pastor

This week we celebrate Trinity Sunday, the first Sunday after Pentecost in the Western Christian liturgical calendar. It is a major feast day dedicated to celebrating the Christian doctrine of the Trinity. The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. We recognize the intimate relationship that The Father has with The Son, and The Son with the Spirit, and The Spirit with The Father. With communion, we are invited into this unity. Our Agape Feast, we just had this last Saturday is, in fact, that unity with the God head. We all shared from a common plate that had amazing mixture of African foods, followed by 3 rounds of coffee. We then had communion and finished it off with home cooked delicious deserts. I invite all of you to partake of our monthly Agape Meals. I always enjoy them. At this last one I came away feeling a touch of unity and a foretaste of the fellowship we will enjoy when our Lord returns and we will enjoy in the Wedding Supper of the Lamb.

Join us this Sunday for worship, followed by the Red Willow open house at 1-4pm. We are all invited to the BBQ too.

Such a wonderful Pentecost service with the GCI kids carrying many flags and doing a fantastic 🎭 dramatic reading of the upper room with the disciples as they celebrate the birthday of the church with the coming of the Holy Spirit!

Word from the Pastor

This week we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit. Last week we celebrated Ascension Sunday. Our Lord went back to Heaven to be seated as our High Priest and King beside The Father. Pentecost is 50 days after The Days of Unleavened Bread, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit. We know about The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit by revelation from The Holy Spirit. He comes to us and ushers in truth and understanding, and He is the bridge to the Father/Son relationship. The Holy Spirit is our counsellor and downpayment until we are changed and enter into glory. Our kids will be reading the Pentecost story from Acts. This dramatic reading is from the Bedtime Bible Stories we gifted them at Christmas.

Join us for Sunday Worship, Communion and Lunch afterwards.
