The Annual General Meeting for the SCC will be held on Wednesday, May 27th. We will have a free BBQ at 5:45 and the meeting will start at 6:30pm.

It is important that members come out and participate. There will be discussions on the next major capital projects as well as a review of some of the league scheduling. Input from members will be valuable to chart a path forward.

We are also looking for three new Directors to help out on the Board. Time commitments vary with ten meetings per year and usually a few hours each month. No expertise is required as departing Board members will be available for coaching and questions.

And finally, we are looking for a club secretary. The position has evolved and become significantly easier with the new membership software. The focus now is on taking minutes at meetings and communicating with members a couple of times a month.

Our Club thrives on participation and volunteers. If your schedule allows, please think about helping out at the Board level. You will find it a rewarding, engaging and fun experience.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected]

Friday Mixed League Season Wrap Up!

Friday Mixed League play finished up for the season this past Friday night. Draw three had six teams battling it out over four weeks to steal as many ends as possible. Teams were awarded 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 1 additional point for each end stolen.

From the outset, Team Rayworth demonstrated a knack for manufacturing stolen ends, accumulating a total of 12 over the course of the draw. Congratulations to Team Rayworth (Gina Rayworth, Robbie Estey-Willick, Cathy Johnston, Tracy Estey Willick) for finishing in first place with 18 points. They have chosen the Tantramar Community Association as the recipient of the $100 donation which will be made in honour of their win.

In addition to Team Rayworth, Teams Ditner and Butcher ended the night in the win column. David Weeks took the final “double takeout free drink” pylon of the season with a nice double in the third end.

Many thanks to Robbie Estey-Willick, our volunteer ice-tech all season. His meticulous ice preparation is appreciated by all who enjoy Friday Night mixed curling. Thank you Robbie!!!
Thank you to Chris, Laurel and Linda for sparing - always appreciated!
