Sable River Community Hall

Sable River Community Hall Informations and News Early in the 1900´s there was a building boom in Sable River. In 2007 this great landmark was designated as a Municipal Heritage Property.

The building we now know as the Community Hall was constructed by a group of volunteers who belonged to the Beaconsfield Division of the Sons of Temperance in 1903. Over the years many organizations have used this building as their meeting place; the IOOF, the Agriculture Society, the W.I.N.S., the 4H Club and Sable River Volunteer Fire Department, etc. Thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers we

know have a clean, safe and beautiful Community Centre. In recent years we have been fortunate to be the recipients of government grants that, in conjunction with fundraising and many community volunteer hours, we have been able to complete major renovations to the premises; new roof, replaced some windows, new ramps and steps, new oil tank, new kitchen and appliances, new washrooms with wheelchair access, upgrade insulation, interior walls replaced and painted both interior and exterior of the building. Some of the events that are held in the hall are community fundraisers, weekly Crib, Fitness, and Health Matters, as well as a site for meetings, etc. It is also rented by individuals and groups as a place for hosting events like birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, end of life celebrations and much more.
