Today, we’d like to recognize and thank Chris Buote and the team at North Rustico Home Hardware Building Centre for their incredible support of Lennon Recovery House and our Shed the Stigma campaign.

When we first approached Chris about this campaign, there was no hesitation. He immediately stepped forward and offered the materials needed to help bring this project to life. That generosity and commitment to community is something we’ve come to know and appreciate over the years.

Chris and his team have been valued partners in many of our initiatives. From supporting our Transitional Housing Program to working with us on our upcoming Window Campaign, they consistently go above and beyond whenever our organization needs help. Their willingness to step up and invest in the well-being of Islanders has made a meaningful impact on the individuals and families we serve.

At Lennon Recovery House, we know that recovery is not something that happens alone. It takes a community that believes in second chances, supports those who are struggling, and stands beside people as they rebuild their lives. Chris and the team at North Rustico Home Hardware embody that spirit.

We are proud to work alongside them and grateful for their continued support of our mission.

Huge shoutout to Island Portable Buildings for being one of the incredible sponsors behind our 𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 π’π“πˆπ†πŒπ€ campaign in support of Lennon Recovery House.

This campaign would not have come together the way it did without Robert and his team. From helping with quotes and materials, to walking us through the process, building the shed, and even delivering it β€” they’ve been there every step of the way.

Devin stopped by their yard with some posters and it was another reminder of just how much work and generosity has gone into this project behind the scenes. We’re beyond grateful for businesses like Island Portable Buildings that believe in recovery, community, and giving back here on PEI.

Thank you again, Robert β€” your support truly means more than words can say.

Year after year, some supporters continue to show up for Lennon Recovery House in a way that truly reflects what community is all about.

We want to extend a sincere thank you to Morgan MacQuarrie and the team at The Shinery - Make It Shine PEI for once again reaching out with a generous donation in support of our work.

From the earliest days of Lennon House, Morgan believed in the vision and quietly supported it when it mattered most. That same commitment has never wavered.

What started as a small detailing business has since grown into The Shinery, a leading name in vehicle protection and detailing across PEI. As the business has evolved and expanded, so too has its impact on the community β€” without ever losing sight of its roots.

What stands out most is that this support is never asked for. Morgan continues to reach out year after year, checking in and offering help simply because he cares.

That kind of consistency and generosity doesn’t go unnoticed.

From all of us at Lennon Recovery House, thank you for standing with us and the individuals we serve. We’re truly grateful for your support, your friendship, and your belief in second chances.

Please join us in thanking Morgan and The Shinery team below. ✨

Continuing our Staff Spotlight Series, Lennon Recovery House is delighted to announce the recent hire of Tavie Dakin as Operations Manager!

Originally from Grand Manan, New Brunswick, Tavie has spent most of her life living on islands. After spending a decade on the mainland attending university and beginning her career supporting vulnerable populations through various NGOs, she moved to PEI in 2000 to work within the public sector.

Over the past 26 years, Tavie has supported individuals in a wide range of settings including group homes, shelters, correctional services, crisis center's and frontline outreach work with the homeless population in Toronto.

Tavie believes recovery is not only about healing from the past, but also about learning how to fully inhabit the present moment. She values creating spaces where people feel seen, supported and empowered to grow one day at a time.

β€œWe at Lennon House are delighted to have Tavie join our team as Operations Manager! With her years of experience, leadership and expertise, Tavie is a trusted leader in balancing operational excellence with ethical, client-centered outcomes. We are absolutely thrilled that Tavie has joined our organization in this leadership role! Welcome aboard,” says Sandra MacNevin, Executive Director.

Please join us in congratulating Tavie and extending her a hearty welcome!
