The Journey for Sight Ride has been a tradition of the lions community since 1983, and has become one of the most cherished traditions within the Lions community. This fundraising event puts dollars into the Lions Foundation of Manitoba and NW Ontario to support those in need. This is a winter ride from Flin Flon to Brandon that blends adventure, service, and compassion, in support of those in need.
In 2026, 29 snowmobiles and riders, along with organizers, and volunteer support drivers and trailers for the machines, made the run. There were 9 of these machines came through Russell on January 23. The rest of them split off at Roblin and went towards Dauphin for another leg of the run, to all end up in Brandon at the Airport Museum. There were two other legs of the run, the eastern leg and the southern leg.
Members of the Russell Lions club met the snowmobile entourage at the Co op gas bar with a $500 donation to the cause. Please see the attached picture of these riders so willing to brave the wicked cold, pounding of their bodies, and wear on their machines, all in the spirit of volunteering!!
Thank you to all!!
