We are looking for a new farm! Fiat farm has been our home base for 7 years but unfortunately they need our space back to help expand their homestead. Both The Abundance Garden and Pick, Plant, and Prune would love your help to find a farm for us to move to!

We are looking for a new local site to set up company operations. We would love to be on a farm property within 15 minutes of Russell Township, ideally in North Russell. We have 8 seasonal employees who work between April and December every year. We also run a community garden called The Abundance Garden which serves as a volunteer opportunity for our community and provides food to the local food bank.

We are willing to work with the property owner to set up the property to suit our operations. Looking to relocate to this new location sometime between August and October 2026. References are available from the farm that we are currently renting from.

Our needs:
½ to 1 acre of land
Parking for 3 commercial vehicles
Parking for 7 Employee Vehicles
Area for 20x40 greenhouse to be set up
Area for 100 ft by 100 ft Community garden with decent soil or option to replace/ adjust soil
Area for a few sheds
We have a solar set up for electrical needs
Access to water will be needed for community gardens and plants in our greenhouse
Safe and welcoming site for my employees
Option to allow supervised volunteers to work in gardens
Access 7 days a week
Within 15 minutes of Russell township
Would like a 5 year contract with property owner

Garden Update.

So far we have planted radishes, peas, carrots, onions and our garlic is coming along. Today we are trying out seed tape for carrots and onions. This is a great product of gardener who have mobility issues with their hands or little ones helping in the garden.

Let us know what you have planted in your garden!

All the seeds planted today were from .

Potting Soil Mix.

Every year we like to experiment with different options in the garden. This year we are trying a new potting soil mixed for our seedlings.

Thanks to for the inspiration with her post on the difference in her seedlings with her new mix. Head to their website for the recipe.

We sourced all our materials from local business, .l.cannabis.supply.

So excited to see how our seedling florish.

Almost time?

We are a bit late on our seed starting this year. One because our head gardener Jenn decided to go on vacation in March and baby seedlings cannot be left alone. Two because it's darn cold out still. The soil this year is a bit slow to realize it's spring.

The most important step of seed starting is organizing everything you have and what you still need. Luckily we still need very little in the way of seeds.

Every year we organize all our seeds in a spreadsheet to help us with inventory and when to plant everything. This year Jenn paired that task with watching Garden of the Year, a wonderful show if you haven't seen it 🌱

Have you all started seedlings yet? If so what are you excited for this year?

We would like to say a big thank to Made By CUX for our new beautiful branding. We are so excited for some changes coming to our programming for 2026.

From our gardens to yours we cannot wait for the planting season to begin.

Hoar Frost.

What a stunning day we had in the garden today. The frost had gathered overnight. Beautiful spikes all over our dead plants. It looks like winter has come to stay and the gardens will sleep till spring.

Beautiful harvest from.the garden this week ❤️ including 4 large tomato hornworms!

These impressive caterpillars will munch away in your tomato leaves causing quick defoliation. It is important to remove them from your tomatoes and hunt for more.

Although destructive they do turn into a truly impressive moth, the five spotted hawk moth.

Happy harvesting everyone!
