It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Alfred Gray, who passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital. August 20, 2026. John was born on October 19th, 1942 in Yarmouth NS. John was the beloved son of the late James Gray and Bertha Newell Gray. He was a devoted father to his son, Rev. Jonathan Gray (Mindy), and his daughters, Jill Gray and Tina Cliff. He was a proud grandfather to Tyler and Kyla, who brought him great joy. John is also lovingly remembered by his brother, James Gray (Donna); his sisters, Barbara Gray and Donna Watkins (Mike); as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish his memory. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his wife Hilda May (Bustard) his brothers, George Gray and Richard Gray, and his sister, Bessie Lowe. John will be remembered for the love he shared with his family, the kindness he showed to those around him, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kennebecasis Branch No. 58.

Robert Mummery Obituary
Robert William “Bob” Mummery was born on June 25, 1954, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the son of the late John and Beulah “Bea” Mummery. He passed away at his home in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, on July 25, 2026.

Bob had many interests throughout his life. He loved sailing and motorcycles, and had a great appreciation for art and classical music. He also enjoyed cooking and was especially proud of his seafood chowder and chili.

For many years, Bob was a proud and active member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He generously contributed his time and abilities to the Legion community, assisting with financial and accounting reports and preparing official correspondence. He was also an enthusiastic member of the Legion’s shuffleboard team and greatly enjoyed travelling to competitions.

In the later years of his life, Bob found great happiness travelling to Moldova to spend time with his wife, Inna. He came to love the country deeply — its natural beauty, climate, people, and culture. Always interested in learning and experiencing something new, Bob enjoyed discovering the local cuisine and embracing life in Moldova. He had been actively planning to obtain permanent residency, with the hope of building a long and peaceful life there together with Inna.

Bob is survived by his wife, Inna Zuicova of Moldova; his children, Tony Mummery (Jessica) of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Jennifer Mummery-Widmer (Alex) of Switzerland, and Christopher Mummery of Windsor, Nova Scotia; his grandchildren, Edith, Jillian, Marko, Elise, and Ian; his brother, Peter Mummery (Barbara) of Rothesay, New Brunswick; his sister, Pat Mummery of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; his aunt, Pat Macdonald of Bedford, Nova Scotia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his infant son, Alex Mummery, and his second wife, Joyce Johansson.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, New Brunswick (506-634-7424). A private family ceremony will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.

Gary Roy Murphy Obituary
It is with great sorrow, the family of Gary Roy Murphy, loving companion of the late Lena Jarvis, announce his passing on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John. Born in Tiverton, NS, on July 24, 1943, he was a son of the late Raymond and Rebecca (Robbins) Murphy. Gary was a limodriver and was employed by the city of Mississauga as a city bus driver, retiring at the age of 57. He met many people along his routes that would make a lasting impression. Gary served in the Military for several years and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He enjoyed playing bingo, and a master of cribbage. Gary and Lena loved to spend many winters travelling to Fort Myers in Florida. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. Gary and his loyal fur friend, Milo, could be found driving around and were regular McDonald’s customers in Quispamsis, sharing their breakfasts together. Most of all, Gary loved his family, he enjoyed spending time, cracking jokes, and making memories with them. He will be missed by all who knew him. Gary is survived by his stepson Brian Jarvis of Quispamsis, stepdaughter Karen Morrison (Mark) of Quispamsis, grandchildren; Jacob and Meghan Morrison, brother Tony Murphy (Gloria) of St. Stephen, NB, sisters; Marlene Thomas (Rondo) of Ajax, ON, and Marilyn Ilton of Welland, ON, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Besides his parents and companion, Gary is predeceased by brothers; Randy, Harold, Darrell, and Peter, and his sisters; Joyce and Frances. In keeping with Gary’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119).
