Help Make VTC’s 2nd Annual Casino Night a Success! 🎰💜

We are getting ready for one of our biggest fundraisers of the year — VTC’s 2nd Annual Casino Night, happening Friday, October 30th at Exhibition Park!

But we need the help of our amazing community to make it a success.

At the Vocational Training Centre, we support adults with intellectual and physical disabilities by providing opportunities to learn, grow, build independence, develop employment skills, volunteer in our community, and experience meaningful paid employment.

And as VTC continues to grow, so does the need for the programs, opportunities, equipment, transportation, and space that allow our participants to reach their goals.

That’s why this Casino Night is so important to us.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has already contributed to this event. Your generosity, encouragement, and support mean so much to us and help make these opportunities possible for the incredible adults who attend VTC.

We are still looking for businesses, organizations, and community members who would like to support our event through sponsorships, monetary donations, gift cards, products, services, or prizes for the evening.

No donation is too big or too small. Every contribution helps us create an amazing event while directly supporting opportunities for the incredible adults who attend VTC.

🎣 When you just wanna go fishing and be with your friends! 💙

Who says you need a lake to enjoy a day of fishing? Today, our VTC ADL Room participants got creative and set up their very own mock fishing pond — complete with lots of fun, laughter, and time spent together! 🎣🐟

Our ADL Room is about so much more than learning daily living skills. It’s a place where we focus on socialization, friendships, independence, confidence, and simply enjoying life together.

Most importantly, it’s a space where our participants know they are loved, respected, supported, and valued for exactly who they are. 💜

We are incredibly proud of the program staff who make this room what it is. Their compassion, patience, creativity, and genuine love for the people they support can be seen in moments just like this one.

Sometimes building life skills looks like cooking, cleaning or learning something new… and sometimes it looks like grabbing a fishing rod, sitting beside your friends, and making memories together. 🎣💙

Participant Recognition – VTC Second Chance Thrift Store

Today, we would like to formally recognize a group of participants who demonstrated strong performance and professionalism at the VTC Second Chance Thrift Store.

We extend our appreciation to Alex, Aaron, Chris, Kayla, and Jeff for their excellent work throughout the day. Your commitment, teamwork, and continued development of workplace confidence were clearly evident and are sincerely valued.

It was particularly encouraging to observe each of you taking initiative, collaborating effectively, and seeking clarification when needed. You were able to complete tasks with increasing independence and contributed meaningfully to the day-to-day operations of the thrift store. Your performance reflects significant progress in developing essential vocational and employment-related skills.

These achievements align closely with the mission of the Vocational Training Centre, which focuses on building practical skills, workplace readiness, confidence, and independence to support long-term employment success. This progress is also a reflection of the ongoing support, coaching, and dedication provided by staff and supervisors.

We are proud of the growth you have demonstrated and encourage you to continue building on this momentum as you work toward your employment goals.
