Sunday, April 19 – Team Accomplishments.
This was our first time back on the streets after a long winter serving at St. Alban’s Cathedral.
We’ve been praying for the right place to set up every other week through the spring, summer, and fall, and we truly believe God’s timing is perfect. All we need to do is trust Him 🙏
Yesterday felt very different from serving indoors.
People aren’t in just one place, so we drove around, trusting God to lead us and we’re so grateful we did.
It became more than just handing out food. We had real conversations. People opened up, shared their stories, and allowed us to pray with them. We shared the Gospel and gave out scripture cards.
We were able to give two blankets to two young women who really needed them. One was struggling with the cold, and the other was simply trying to make sure her friend could rest.
We met a man in a back alley trying to make a difference in his own way, spreading sand over water on the road. That moment stayed with us, it reminded us that even in hard situations, people still care.
We also met a woman doing similar outreach work. We connected, prayed together, and shared from the heart. It was emotional in a good way, you could really feel God moving.
We connected with a young woman who may help us find a place to set up every two weeks, where we can serve food, share clothing, and bring the Word to those who are open.
We’re just so grateful to be back on the streets again.
At the same time, we saw the reality of what people are going through. One man asked to be left alone.
A woman said she didn’t need help.
We saw a couple in conflict.
We met a young girl who had stepped on a rusty nail and was waiting to see a doctor.
One man asked us to pray for his family, for this country, and for peace in the world 🌍
Right when we arrived, we met a couple going through a bin, and we were able to serve them food and water at just the right moment.
We also met a very young man sitting alone who didn’t want to be known.
We’re also very grateful that Joan joined our team for her first Sunday on the streets, it meant a lot to have her with us. God is good.
