God is not guiding you toward comfort, but toward purpose. Although He provides comfort, He often calls us to step out of it in pursuit of something greater. Comfort might feel safe, but it often leads to stagnation.

Purpose, on the other hand, challenges you, stretches you, and transforms you, aligning your life with His greater plan. As Jesus reminds us, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me' (Luke 9:23).

Trust Him—your discomfort today is shaping you for the purpose He has designed for your tomorrow. Your obedience today will unlock the plans He’s prepared for your future.

Celebration of Life for Jacob Gilhuis
It is with profound sadness that we invite you to join us in celebrating the beautiful life of Jacob Gilhuis, a beloved son, caring brother, and loyal friend. Jacob tragically left us on Sunday, July 19, 2026, following a car accident. Though his time with us was far too short, the love, laughter, and memories he gifted us will remain in our hearts forever.

Service Details
When: Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM
Where: New Beginning Church (954 Giroux Street, Rockland, ON)

After the celebration service:
You are invited to join us at the grave site.
Following the grave site visit, there will be a light lunch back at the church.

Dress Code
Jacob’s family has shared that this will be a hoodie and blue jean type of service, as a way of reflecting Jacob’s personality. However, this is entirely optional, and all are welcome to dress as they feel comfortable.

Your presence would mean so much to Jacob’s family and friends as we come together to support one another during this challenging time.
