South Saskatchewan Ready is pleased to announce 𝗥𝗼𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗮𝘂 of Rockglen, SK, as a funding recipient under the third round of our Municipal Coal Transition Program.

Through this strategic program, communities across our region are supported in strengthening long-term economic resilience and diversification.

𝗥𝗼𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗮𝘂 received $92,104.00 to purchase equipment to establish a manufacturing operation that converts end-of-life tires and non-recyclable plastics into pyrolysis oil, synthetic gas and activated carbon.

The 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗵 received $9,850.00 to hire a Destinate Group to perform an Accommodation Business Case for Coronach and surrounding region.

Through this strategic program, communities across our region are supported in strengthening long-term economic resilience and diversification.

𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗰. received $20,000.00 for the purchase of specialized tools and equipment to provide motorcycle, ATV and UTV repair and modification services in southwest Saskatchewan. In addition, the project includes capital improvements to an existing shop enabling year-round operations and increasing service capacity.

𝐑𝐌 𝐍𝐨. 𝟒𝟐 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡

The Rural Municipality of Willow Bunch No. 42, established in 1912, is a historic and culturally rich rural municipality in south-central Saskatchewan. With deep roots in Métis and Francophone settlement, the RM surrounds the Town of Willow Bunch and includes the organized hamlet of Scout Lake along with several rural localities including Grand Valley, Gye, Lisieux, Little Woody, St. Victor, and Twin Valley.

Jean Louis Légaré Regional Park, located within the RM, is named after one of Willow Bunch’s earliest settlers. This scenic park features a beautiful campground, 9-hole golf course, picnic areas, and hiking trails that wind through the striking coulees and valleys of the Big Muddy region.

Agriculture remains the foundation of the RM, with generations of family farms and ranches shaping both the landscape and the local economy. The region also preserves important pieces of its early history, including the Grand Valley Lutheran Church, built in 1916 and still standing as a reminder of the community’s pioneer era.

As a member of South Saskatchewan Ready, the 𝐑𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐍𝐨. 𝟒𝟐 works together with neighbouring municipalities to support long-term regional development, strengthen local economies, and contribute to a connected and resilient rural region

𝐑𝐌 𝐍𝐨. 𝟒𝟎 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡

Located in the southeast region of Saskatchewan, the 𝐑𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐍𝐨. 𝟒𝟎 was officially incorporated on January 1, 1913, evolving from Local Improvement District No. 40. Named after the neighbouring Town of Bengough, the RM has long served as a strong agricultural hub with deep prairie roots and a proud rural history.

The RM spans over 320 miles of municipal road, including primary grid, farm access, and seasonal backroads that support local producers, residents, and industry. The area is comprised of expansive agricultural and pasture lands, well-known for grain, pulse, and livestock production. Agriculture remains the primary economic driver of the RM, supported by strong transportation networks and service industries that contribute to steady economic activity.

Within the RM, you’ll find the Town of Bengough, as well as the localities of Harptree, Horizon, Roncott, and Ritchie—each playing a role in the region’s local economy and community life.
