Saturday is the day before Mothers Day. That means that it is time for the Annual Mothers Day Lobster Takeout Dinners. 🦞
This year, we had to cut back on the number of dinners. We are a small club and this project was intended to be a little thank you to the Mothers. It is not a commercial enterprise. Most of us work and we are volunteers.
We called everyone from our lists from the last 2 years. If we did not get an answer, we left a message, if able. Some numbers were out if service. Some would not let us leave a message.
We could not open up new orders until we heard back from previous customers. At some point in the future we may be able to. We also could not let callers increase their orders, for example from 4 to 20.
If you were on the list and didn't get your order in, we are sorry that you will be missing out, but we made every effort to contact you.

If you did order. We hope that you enjoy your dinners. We wish you a Happy Mother's Day.
Drive through pick up is from 9 to 2 at 145 Lakeside Drive lower parking lot. Enter from the Byron Dobson Arena parking lot at the bottom of Biggs. After you pay for and pick up your order, continue around the back of the building to get back to Lakeside Dr.

We will be extremely busy tomorrow, and unlikely to be able to answer phone calls or messages. ⚠️

Sincerely
RKC

Riverview Kinsmen Club held the first Bob Wetmore Memorial Cash Draw last night at the Riverview Lions Club. We hope everyone who attended had an enjoyable evening. Congratulations to the winners. The Grand Prize winner, $12,500, was Stuart Crosby.
We would like to thank the Riverview Lions for their hard work and assistance in helping us to make this happen.
We would would also like to acknowledge and thank the RHS Royal Reign Dragon Boat team for helping with picking up dishes.
There was a definite change of atmosphere with the change in venue and missing the presence of Bob Wetmore.

🦞 Yes, the Riverview Kinsmen Club is planning their annual Mother's Day Lobster Takeout Dinner this year. We exceeded our expectations last year, and as a result we are not taking any new orders at this time. If you ordered last year, you will be receiving a call for orders. The response from those calls will determine if we open up for more orders. Sorry for any disappointment, but this is only a one day project for our club, and not a full-time business. We have limited time and resources to prepare and distribute these dinners. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Yes, we are having our Spring Cash Draw this year. It will be held at the Riverview Lions Club, 701 Coverdale Rd, on April 25th.
We would like to thank the Lions Club for giving us a new home for our draw.
We apologize that this could be a lengthy post, but we feel that our supporters deserve an explanation of the changes we have had to make.
The biggest change, of course, is the passing of Bob Wetmore. He practically ran the draws by himself and it has been a learning experience to try to fill his shoes.
The next biggest change is that we have moved the draw from Coverdale Centre to the Lions Club. This was a result of the decision by the Town's Parks and Recreation Department to close the bar at Coverdale, and the lack of action from Council to consult with town residents and affected groups to look at alternatives. Please contact candidates running in the May 11 election to get their opinions on this decision and vote accordingly.
The Lions Club will have a bar, and are allowing us to cook the meal that you are accustomed to having at the draw. Same cook as in the past. Note that the kitchen is smaller than Coverdale but we will work to make everything work.
The Lions building capacity is also smaller and we have had to reduce the number of tickets sold from 375 down to 350. To compensate for this the grand prize draw was also reduced to $12,500. Even with this change, there is a possibility that more people will show up than we can accommodate and we may have to turn people away. We apologize in advance if this happens.
Other changes that you will notice are that in order to have a reasonable amount of seating, we will be using the upstairs and downstairs of the Lions Club. Note that the downstairs has a lower seating capacity, so it will be less crowded. It will have its own bar and washrooms and there will be TVs in the lower lever, but the board will be on the upper floor and you will have to go upstairs to get your buffet food.
Speaking of the buffet, due to space restrictions, the buffet will most likely be a single line, so be prepared for a longer serving time. Again, we have to work with what we have. Listen to our MC for instructions on getting your meal.
There will be a 50/50 draw with proceeds split between the Lions and Kinsmen Clubs.
If you had a ticket for the last draw and have not been contacted, please call 307-3010, leave a message and we will attempt to call you. We have a waiting list, so if we don't connect in time, we may sell your ticket. Note that this year we are also offering e-transfer to pay for your tickets.
If you have already purchased you tickets, thank you for your support. If you have booked your tickets, please honour your commitment and make payment arrangements.
We cannot guarantee that we will be able to respond to Facebook messages. Your best chance to renew your tickets is by leaving a voicemail.
We are looking forward to seeing every one again and serving you.
Your patience will be necessary as we navigate these changes.
