Last week, we gathered for an evening of reading and reflection with Thomas A. Weaver (Prakasha), celebrating the release of his new book from Timeless Books, Echoes from an Inner Shore: The Scientist & the Yogini.

A longtime student of Swami Sivananda Radha, Prakasha shared stories from his years with Swami Radha and reflected on the ways her teachings continue to shape his life today.

Blending memoir, insight and lively storytelling, the evening offered a glimpse into the connections between scientific inquiry and yogic wisdom — and the many ways Swami Radha’s teachings continue to resonate.

We were grateful to welcome our surrounding community into the Ashhram for this special event!

675 hours of class time - that is how many hours our Yoga Development Course is.

This three-month intensive begins in the depths of winter, in January, offering an opportunity to turn inward. Over three months, as spring emerges, you move from darkness into light — both outwardly and within.

A lot can shift and change within yourself with that kind of concentrated time and attention enveloped within a three-month community experience.

Join us this Sunday, August 30 at 11am PT for an information session about the Yoga Development Course, where we’ll share more about the experience and what it can open up for you: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/information-session-yoga-development-course-tickets-1992584153843?aff=oddtdtcreator

“Divine Mother needs a sacred space to be within
us. Like our Temple of Light at the Ashram, the inner
temple cannot be built unless there is harmony. A temple of harmony can contain the company of the wise.” - Swami Radhananda

Echoes from an Inner Shore: The Scientist & the Yogini.
Free Event: Friday, August 28, 7:00 pm, Radha Room - Yasodhara Ashram 524 Walkers Landing, Kootenay Bay

Scientist, yogi, and longtime student of Swami Radha, Thomas A. Weaver (Prakasha) has spent a lifetime exploring two profound paths of inquiry: physics and yoga
In this special reading from Echoes from an Inner Shore, he will share stories from his years with Swami Radha and reflect on how her teachings transformed both his spiritual life and his understanding of science.

Blending memoir, insight, and lively storytelling, Prakasha invites us into an exploration of consciousness, the nature of reality and the surprising ways that scientific discovery and yogic wisdom illuminate one another.

Following the reading, there will be time for questions, conversation and refreshments.

We hope you'll join us for this special evening of reflection and community.

“Selfless service is at the core of yoga; it is a practice of giving back and putting your ideals into action. When you know yourself, you have the ability and responsibility to utilize that knowledge to bring quality to all of your activities.”
- Swami Radhananda (Living the Practice)

Our Two-Month Karma Yoga Program offers an opportunity to explore selfless service, the yoga of action, through daily practice, self-reflection and service.

Can work set you free? In this month’s blog, Yana draws on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and the Yamas and Niyamas to explore her changing relationship to work:

"Looking back at my life, I see how work has been a prominent teacher for me. I’ve been giving so much of myself to my work and my professional development, and it paid off when the goal was to build a successful career.

Going through a significant life transition now, I’m spending more time exploring parts of myself that were abandoned in the process. I want to show up for myself, my friends and family, my community, my clients, from a different place.

Rather than asking myself “Am I doing the right work?” I’m asking myself “How can I BE with the work in front of me in a way that is aligned with my ideals?”" . . .
