A little late in wishing everyone a Happy New Year but hope everyone is having a wonderful January and all the best for a prosperous and amazing year ahead.

As 2026 is in full swing, so are things here at DHRC. Realize things have been a bit quiet on our front and we apologize for that as life does certainly get busy but we can assure you that we are still working behind the scenes to ensure a great show season ahead.

Show dates for 2026 have been confirmed, so please mark your calendars for the following:

Saturday May 30
Saturday June 27
Saturday July 18th

We have still not received all the year end awards, but hoping the remaining will be in soon and as soon as they are, we will get something planned and hope to have the AGM and Awards banquet no later than April.

11/27/2025

Hi all, first off want to apologize for the delay in updating things regarding banquet. We decided to go with some different awards which are taking a bit longer to get back and now that we have come into the holiday season it's a busy time for all.

We plan on hosting the banquet sometime in Feb so let us get awards back and then we will announce the exact date.

Again apologies for our absence of information. We appreciate your patience and look forward to celebrating all the successes from 2025 season in a couple months.

We will also be holding the agm at this time and we would love if some new folks would come on the board to help out and bring new ideas. Appreciate you all for your support of DHRC and looking forward to an even better 2026!!!

What a great turnout at the clinic day yesterday! Thank you to everyone who spent the day with us.

A little wet in the morning but it sure turned around after lunch and ended up with great weather in the afternoon.

We hope everyone had a good time and learned some things from our clinicians and can take that home to continue honing those skills.

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to our amazing amateurs for donating their time to provide their knowledge and help to make yesterday such a success!

A shout out to all of you for supporting our club again as well as all the volunteers and sponsors. We just couldn't do this without the amazing support from each and everyone of you.

Hi all, looking like we are going to be getting some much needed rain this morning. Radar right now looks as if by 10am, the majority of the heavy rain will have moved through Richmond.

We still plan on holdng our Clinic day but let's push it to a 10am start instead of 9 just to hopefully miss the majority of rain.

Hi all. We would like to gauge interest if we hosted a mock show/clinic day on Sunday, August 17th at Richmond Fairgrounds.

There are still a number of upcoming fairs and other shows happening this fall, so this would give you another opportunity of getting you and your horse more exposure while also learning some tips to critique your skills and better prepare yourself for future shows in a no pressure atmosphere.

Clinicians would consist of judges, coaches and seasoned amateurs who have shown successfully at the AQHA breed shows and at world show levels.

The format would be as follows:

- Would run a reduced class list
- Prior to each class, there will be a clinic
- Following the clinic and q&a, the class will be held and all will compete in the class where the clinicians will provide feedback.

There will be a couple other topics that will be covered which includes

Banding
Halter fit
Show prep
What judges are looking for

Class list will be as follows:

Halter
Showmanship
Hunter under saddle
English equitation
Western pleasure
Horsemanship
Trail
Reining
Ranch Rail
Ranch Trail

Lunch will be provided.

Cost would be $75 per horse and rider combo

If you are interested, please let us know!

What an awesome day yesterday!!! We can't thank everyone enough for supporting our shows this year. To all the exhibitors, family, spectators, sponsors, volunteers and judges - we are just so appreciative for all your support.

Special shout out to Sheila Rondeau and Tracy Pierce. These 2 ladies have helped the club by volunteering announcing and providing all the patterns judges cards and putting together our lead line gifts etc!

Certainly couldn't put on these shows without you all and it sure makes the work so worth while. Seeing the bleechers full with friends and family cheering everyone on is awesome!!

The grounds and weather was perfect. Day started off with huge numbers in our in halter and showmanship classes and so great to see 5 entries in our lungeline which has been a class that hasn't seen many entries in the past.

Our English classes (hunter under saddle and equitation) are small but the remainder of the classes are continuing to see consistent numbers.

We would like to thank Tracey Scott and Colleen McFadden for donating gas and dairy queen gift certificates which were handed out to a number of exhibitors in random exhibitor draws and another hot dog bbq that was enjoyed by all.

We offer these shows as a opportunity to show your horse in a relaxed and welcoming but competitive environment. A great place for youth and adults to either start showing, or get back into showing or even for the more seasoned exhibitors to have an affordable avenue to show. We hope we have met your expectations for 2025 and look forward to growing in 2026.

We are looking at possibly hosting one last event in August but we just need to figure out a few things so look for an announcement coming soon.

Thank you all from the 2025 DHRC Exectuvie. ❤

Shawna, Makayla, Laura, Talya, along with our honorary show staff Brooklyn, Jaz and Tracey. 🤠
