To our Family of Churches
Hello WestCoast! It's been, well, a minute.
Let’s continue praying for those affected by the wildfires in our region, and asking God how we can be His hands and feet to help.
Today, I have some exciting news to share.
If you recall, almost 4 years ago, Hamish Buntain had to delay his retirement after more than a decade of faithful service as our Regional Ministry Leader (RML), to give us time to search for his successor.
After years of prayer, conversations, searching, and trusting God's timing—and with Ian Buntain faithfully serving as our interim in the last year—I'm thrilled to share that our new Regional Ministry Leader is Nate Vedoya.
Nate is a Canadian, a graduate of our Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary, a seasoned pastor and church planter, and he brings a deep love for the local church and a passion for helping churches reach their communities with the Gospel.
Interestingly, Nate was someone we reached out to earlier in our search and, at that time, he knew the timing wasn't right. Looking back, we can see God was at work even when we couldn't see the full picture.
Our search committee prayerfully recommended Nate to the CNBC WestCoast Executive Board, and the board unanimously voted to call him as our new RML.
We're incredibly excited for what God will do through Nate's leadership as he leads Kingdom > Gospel > Movement in BC and the Yukon. We’ll introduce him more fully at our upcoming go2026 - Missions Conference next month, so hope you’ll join us there.
After these years, we're grateful not just for the answer, but for God who faithfully led us to His chosen servant.
