I read Diane Teichman Forch’s daily offering’s ALMOST every day and take screenshots of the one’s I really find UPLIFTING and POSITIVE!!..Have been lying here for HOURS going through them after last night’s 3rd straight win by the Dodgers… My takeaway?

- SUPER glad the prices for the games here have fallen somewhat where “real fans” can get to a WS game with their kids be it Dodger or Yankee Fans. (Still pricey but all relative!)

- We’ll either see a comeback now as great as the one now on Netflix (2004 Boston Red Sox’s)…. Or we’ll see Freddie Freeman get rewarded for just being a “solid human being”.

My response is to at least believe for TODAY, that YEAR’S from now I’ll look back and “remember who I was with when the Yankees started their comeback”!!

Later tonight, perhaps not so much!!..🤷🏻‍♂️

VANCOUER CANADIANS TICKETS & EVENTS UPDATE:

Hey, All...Just a quick note (or NOT!!) to:

a) Clarify a PICTURE I posted up a week or so ago that had some people wondering why they or others that know me "weren't invited" (Rishi warned me that I was going to confuse everyone on that...Should have listened...As always!!!)

THAT pic was from Aug 9th / 2015 and was addressed in the Video. Rishi has been asking me to try to book the NUTRUL ZONE for a "70TH B'DAY PARTY FOR MANY OF US". Problem is that with the RIGHT FIELD BBQ AREA BEING TURNED INTO A CLUBHOUSE AND ROOFTOP RESTAURANT (that won't likely be ready) there's ALREADY a "WAITING LIST" for 2025 in that area.....SOOOOO, I'm thinking we just find somewhere for a BIG DANCE PARTY instead.....where we invite "EVERYBODY AND ANYBODY THAT FEELS LIKE DANCING"....Stay tuned on that one!!

b) Below is an updated list of remaining games still available for those that had tickets donated to their causes, given for helping out somewhere along the line and/or are interested in putting something together OVER THE REMAINING 11 GAMES. (Season went by fast!!). (Chris Ainge ?, Parvine Teja (For Braham?), Glenn Kishi (from the fundraiser if you want to pass along to the long drivers and KP'ers, D6 SAINTS registrants, etc, etc?)

As I'm away from Aug 29th to Sept 9th, ideally we can get anything covered that's needed prior to that. Just TEXT OR DM me if anything needed to be done there and/or whether I've not yet transferred anything we already put together. (It's been known to happen, right Shayne V. !!)

In the meantime, MUCH thanks Sherry Mitchell, Paul John Christian Taff Tom Clarke Gerry White Cameron Walker Dave Clarke Fraser Hartley's family and so many more that have helped keep this together over the years.

TO THOSE TIRED OF CUTTING OR WATERING THEIR LAWNS, REDOING DECKS SUCH AS Ron Matharu did for me years ago, wanting to put their own batting cage up in their back yard, etc...DM me if interested and I'll put you in touch with those cleaning it out BY JUNE 25th. ( Turf would be "By MIN Donation To A Charity Of YOUR Choice").

Acting solely on behalf of the local baseball community, we made every effort to find a spot in Richmond to put it back up in the Richmond area by reaching out as far and wide as possible - including those members of Richmond Sport Council - but 40 days of trying to do so just wasn't enough.

Everything needs to be removed by June 27th of NEXT WEEK so if anyone has any interest in the turf - or any last minute ideas to keep it functional in it's entirety for those all asking "Where will we train NEXT Winter", let us know.

"Thank You" to all those that have assisted so far in trying to find solutions on this as well as those willing to continue to do so.

Good Morning

Anyone with a PICK UP TRUCK / CARGO TRAILER / CUBE VAN OR FLATBED TRUCK, ETC interested in FREE VANCOUVER CANADIAN TICKETS to a game or two of your choice?

IF AVAILABLE TODAY TO PICK UP SOME "STUFF" BETWEEN 10 AM TO 12 PM AT THE BALLYARD AND THEN DELIVER TO THE SOUTH TERMINAL AREA , DM OR TEXT ME AT 604.250.3432 THIS MORNING. (We have one big truck available for Weds but we want to get out as much as we can by the end of this weekend that is loose and then deal with the cages later.)

See pics of mostly small, light stuff that would load up and convoy over to the SMALL TERMINAL area.

"WHY NOT JUST RENT A TRUCK"? - I wish we could, but given the RESTRICTED ACCESS imposed on us due to what might just be a misunderstanding (Jack has to be with us),it's near impossible to line up a truck on such short notice between Jack's availability, those that can drive a big truck, and now the people that have incredibly stepped up to help us store at least some of it.

Thus the post this morning as there's a small window TODAY....BEFORE CANUCKS TAKE GAME 7...OR BUST!!

NOTE: Some out there think that we're "FIGHTING"... We are. Against time (MAY 31st deadline with little or no access as mentioned) and for survival of the cages "somewhere - somehow". Stay tuned!

Good Morning "Friends Of Baseball"!!! (PLEASE SHARE with anyone that you think MAY want an entire batting cage for themselves, know someone that might be able to put it up in an area that would serve Richmond and the surrounding area in which case it WOULD BE FREE, OR just wants a piece of REALLY STILL GOOD ARTIFICIAL TURF for whatever the reason... (Think "End Of The Roll" ideas and pricing here with all proceeds going to those communities that help support LL Baseball)

I’m USUALLY reaching out for HELP to my “FRIENDS IN BASEBALL” but on this one (after 3 Board meetings this week with those groups and another one at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning), I’m reaching out to any TEACHERS, FOOD BANK WORKERS, THRIFT SHOP WORKERS, CHURCH VOLUNTEERS, BOYS & GIRL CLUB WORKERS OR ANYONE ELSE WORKING with children say 6 to 13 years old that could use a helping hand.

The questions are (knowing that we have a homeless problem for sure for adults)

1) Are there really families with children that could use a meal for thier children even one day a week that live in Richmond, South Van, Marpole area?.. (Non - School Day?.. Sunday Night or ?)

2) IF so, how many hurdles would an organization have to go through to tie a “sports program” into an opportunity to feed a group of children during a small weekly sports event. (Food allergies, food not allowed in a gym, etc have already been thrown our way.. What else from YOUR experience?)

3) IF anyone knows of a group or Volunteer organization that would take on THAT portion of the program, we have a sports group that would take on the actual sports related portion of it whether it’s in gyms during the Winter months or Outdoors come Spring.

I was going to wait until AFTER XMAS to post this up, but I just figured that with so many people getting ready to spend time together with family and friends, what better time to “START THE CONVERSATION” to see where it will lead.

WHY?: With the last Major project our group took on likely coming to an end in the next short while (after an 11 YEAR run when most thought it wouldn’t last a year), conversations began to take place to either “call it a day”….or find another “thing” that challenged us to “BE BETTER”.

This looks to be it so post up or DM me and I’ll pass along to our groups that will help with the funding, equipment, etc.

To those that read my morning’s post.. Lots of progress on #2 and #6… #4 also took a small step forward last night (see pics from Richmond News story as links can no longer be shared)….Those that know, know there’s still a long way to go to see this come to fruition given it’s been on our radar for years and years. Hopefully those STILL living in Richmond will help support this effort and not just reminisce about “those days when we had 12 teams playing out of Brighouse Park on a weekend”…Can happen again for sure if any hurdles and objections can be overcome in the months / years ahead.
