We welcome everyone back for our first RAG Meeting of this season: 6pm Wednesday September 11th, in the Creativity Room, Richmond Cultural Centre Annex.
We are honoured to have Enda Bardell as our demo artist on this night.
At this dem there will be”take away” notes and two samples of completed watercolour sky paintings. One will be a cloudy piece and the other will be a soft sunset. I like to paint fast and loose, l hope to demonstrate these in a short time using 3 Windsor Newton primary transparent colours India Yellow, Alizarin and Antwerp Blue, plus Paynes Grey on Arches 140lb cold press quarter sheets of 11x14 taped down on a styrofoam support board with Scotch brand 3M masking tape. It promises to be an interesting demo and we hope to see many of you at the meeting.
At this first meeting, membership fees will be accepted. The $80 fee can be paid by cheque on this night or by e-transfer anytime to [email protected]. Thank you for supporting RAG.

Our June 12th Meeting will be an instruction and critique facilitated by Nicolette Baumeister.
Nicolette has provided great feedback several times before for RAG members. This time she will do:
“A deep dive into the importance and use of tone. This has occupied me for the last two years. An important element of Art making for sure, but l didn’t quite realize how foundational it is. How we “read” a space is predominantly a function of tone. If it’s “off” the painting will not work. Surprisingly even colour issues often come down to tone.
In this session, l hope to share some of what I’ve learned with you. Our focus will be on how you can strengthen compositions, create unique expressions and of course, always, how you may analyze your work to create successful works of art.”
Please bring paintings you would like to have feedback on.
This meeting will be in-person only. As usual, goodies will be provided.
