Taekwondo BC is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Richmond Olympic Oval to support High Performance training opportunities for our Poomsae and Kyorugi athletes.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Taekwondo BC President, Master Tony Kook, whose leadership and vision were instrumental in establishing this partnership. This initiative represents an important step forward in creating a centralized environment where British Columbia’s athletes can train together and where coaches can collaborate, share knowledge, and continue to develop the sport across the province.

As President Kook has stated, our goal is for Taekwondo BC to become the leading Provincial/Territorial Sport Organization (PTSO) in Canada and a model of excellence for others to follow.

Thank you to all the coaches and members of our taekwondo community who joined us today to celebrate this important milestone and support the future growth of high-performance taekwondo in British Columbia.

Greetings Competitors, Masters, and Dojang Owners,

Now that the registration period has officially closed for the 2026 BC Taekwondo Championships, we’d like to thank you all for signing up and helping make this tournament a success.

To ensure a safe and smooth event for everyone, please take a moment to confirm that all registered heights and weights are accurate.

If referees notice a significant discrepancy, an athlete may be weighed at the ring. Should the weight differ substantially, the athlete will be moved to the appropriate division. Please note that for future tournaments, major weight discrepancies may result in disqualification.

At this time, there are a few divisions with only one registered athlete. To create the fairest matchups possible, we will be adjusting divisions where appropriate. Please check your division over the next few days to see if any changes have been made.

If you remain the only athlete in your division, it means there were no suitable divisions nearby. In this case:

• Poomsae athletes will still be able to compete.

• Sparring athletes will unfortunately not be able to spar, and a refund will be issued.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to a great tournament!
