Get a kickstart on Kindergarten! Our preschool program is the perfect step to prepare your child for September!

We have limited spots for our preschool class which runs until the end of June.

RCNS is part of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care system (CWELCC)! If your child turned 3 years old by December 31st, 2025, they can still register!

Through play-based learning, children develop essential skills that prepare them for junior kindergarten and beyond, all while building confidence and independence.

The preschool program runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.

Please reach out for more information!

💛 A Message to RCNS Families and the Richmond Community 💛

Dear RCNS Families and the Richmond Community,

As the year comes to a close, I’ve been thinking a lot about everything our program has been through—and everything we’ve come through together. Over our 50 years in this community, we’ve certainly had our share of ups and downs, but this past year was unlike anything we could have expected.

What was meant to be a year of celebration—our 50th anniversary—quickly became a year of challenge, change, and resilience. Instead of planning a milestone celebration, we were suddenly asking much harder questions:
How do we stay open?
How do we protect this program?
How do we continue to support the preschool children and families who depend on us?

We lost our funding with less than six weeks’ notice.
We worried daily about keeping our doors open.
We faced an unexpected flood.
We managed a sudden and incredibly stressful relocation.

Through it all, we carried the responsibility of protecting a program that has meant so much to this community for five decades.

And through every challenge, one thing never wavered—you.

The support from this community has been incredible. Your kind words, generosity, and belief in this program carried us through moments of real uncertainty. We truly felt supported every step of the way.

Today, I’m incredibly grateful to say that we are still here.

We’re back in our space, our doors are open, and we’re continuing to provide the care, learning, and connection that preschoolers and their families rely on—because of you.

I also want to recognize the dedication within our RCNS family. Susan has been part of this program for 10 years, and I’m coming up on 20 years myself. We’ve been through a lot together, but nothing quite like this past year.

As we head into the Christmas holidays, I’m looking forward to a chance to slow down, rest, and reset—something I don’t take for granted. I hope this season brings you peace, warmth, and special moments with the people you love.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Thank you for standing with us, believing in us, and helping us continue a 50-year legacy of care. This wasn’t the anniversary year we imagined, but your support has given us something even more meaningful—the chance to keep doing what we love.

With heartfelt thanks,
Krista

RCNS First Fundraiser of the Year!

It's called Fundscrip, a Gift Card fundraiser perfect for your Christmas shopping or Christmas gifts!

When you buy gift cards for your favourite businesses, stores and restaurants, Fundscrip will donate a percentage right back to our school. The best part is, it doesn’t cost you anything extra. For example, if you purchase a $100 gift card for the Gap and they’re donating 13% you get the full $100, Fundscrip will then donate $13 to RCNS. (Some of the gift cards have high percentages as a promo, see screen shots below!)

So, if you know you’re going to shop at Independent, Mobil gas, or Winners why not buy the gift cards and use them for the next few weeks for your shopping while giving back to RCNS?!

Attached you’ll find the link to the order form. Each store posts the percentage they’ll donate back to RCNS. The higher the better!

Please let us know if you have any questions or would like a copy of the order form emailed to you.

You have a week to collect your orders. Then we’ll need to get them in to ensure you can use the cards for your Holiday shopping and gifts.

And please forward this to friends and family!
