The Sharing Farm

The Sharing Farm Our community farm grows food for the Richmond Food Bank on 4.5 acres in Richmond, BC with dedicated volunteer support. We grow food. We grow farmers.

We grow community. The Sharing Farm grows food to feed Richmond families in need. The Farm is run by community members for community members, and is dedicated to providing fresh, healthy, local produce to our less fortunate neighbours. The Sharing Farm operates on a small budget, but thanks to the generosity of our over 1,000 yearly volunteers and the devotion of a small core of part-time staff, T

he Farm is able to provide thousands of pounds of fruits and vegetables every year to community meals throughout the city and the Richmond Food Bank. Our vegetables are on the plates of up to 2,000 people a week!

πŸ“Š Our impact

Did you hear? Our 2025 Annual Report is live on our website!

With the support of our incredible community, we continued our mission of growing fresh, healthy, sustainably grown food for community members facing food insecurity.

Together, our small but mighty team and more than 600 volunteers helped grow and harvest over 20,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables with the Richmond Food Bank, Musqueam Free Market, and other community food programs. πŸ₯¬

To everyone who shared their time, energy, and resources this past year: we thank you wholeheartedly. πŸ’š

🌱 Looking for a meaningful team-building experience?

For over than 15 years, The Sharing Farm has welcomed volunteer groups of all sizes and backgrounds.

During a typica volunteer session, groups help harvest and process hundreds of pounds of fresh produce that reaches local families facing food insecurity.

Group volunteering is a unique opportunity to connect with coworkers while making a tangible impact in the community. Together, you'll harvest sustainably grown food, learn about urban farming, and contribute to a healthier, more connected food system.

🚜 BIG news...we got a Tilmor Super E Tractor!

This is an electric cultivating tractor used for weeding both beds and pathways. The tractor is fume-free and super quiet, which is a win for both our team and the surrounding wildlife.

A huge thank you to Beem Credit Union and Richmond Community Foundation for helping make this possible through their generous funding support. Investments like this strengthen our ability to grow food sustainably and continue farming into the future.
