Does anyone else feel like fall is setting in?
It is our hopes that summer isn’t quite over yet. Though when we look around the farm, there are many changes starting to take place. The cucumbers have all but stopped, the squash are firming and the leaves are dying off, and the strawberries and heirloom tomatoes are slowing down. But while our heat-loving plants have just begun to take notice of the crisp weather, our cool weather crops are absolutely thriving.
Luckily for us all, Leslie and Nikolai have planned hundreds of bed-feet of fall brassicas, root vegetables, and other produce to stock our shelves and your fridges for the months to come.
This next week or two are some of the most prolific for the farm. The overlapping abundance of summer crops and fall crops have appeared in full force at our Farmstands recently. The tables were overflowing with tomatoes, sweet peppers, and eggplants, alongside romaine heads, potatoes, onions, and celery, among many other items.
