RDYO is proud to announce our 55th Anniversary Concert: Then, Now, Next!

This is RDYO at 55 — celebrating the young musicians who are shaping what comes next.

Join us for an unforgettable afternoon at the Orpheum, where generations of music-making come together in a high-energy celebration of friendship, belonging, growth, and the power of playing as one.

From the first rehearsal to the big stage, every note tells a story of young people finding their sound, finding their community, and discovering what they can create together.

Featuring all RDYO divisions and a special guest appearance by Coastal Sound Youth Choir, this is a musical celebration you won't want to miss!

Happy Thanksgiving from RDYO! 🍂🎻

This Thanksgiving weekend, we’re grateful for our wonderful RDYO community.

We’re thankful for our musicians, families, faculty, staff, and everyone who supports our students throughout the season.

Most of all, we’re grateful for the friendships, memories, and sense of belonging that grow through music.

Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with gratitude, laughter, and cherished moments with family and loved ones. 🧡

BC Culture Days with RDYO Recap! 🎻

Over the past few weeks, we had the opportunity to connect with new people, families, and friends in our community through BC Culture Days.

We shared RDYO in two different ways:

1. Instrument Petting Zoo with Long & McQuade - Sep 26
A chance to get hands on with different instruments, try something new, and experience the joy of making music.

2. Open Rehearsal Day - Oct 3
A chance to step into our rehearsal spaces, see our musicians in action, and learn more about RDYO and our youth orchestra programs.

It was wonderful to open our doors, share what we do, and connect with people who are curious about music and the RDYO community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, joined us, and took the time to learn more about RDYO!

Join us for the Richmond Delta Youth Orchestra (RDYO) Open Rehearsal Day as part of BC Culture Days on Saturday, October 3, 2026!

Curious about how our young musicians prepare, or want to dive deeper into what RDYO has to offer? Come experience our open rehearsals across different locations to explore our programs firsthand and discover more about our musical community!

- Senior Strings: 10:45 AM – 12:20 PM
- Junior & Senior Winds: 12:35 PM – 2:00 PM

Junior Strings (12:30 PM – 1:45 PM): Come experience a Junior Strings rehearsal and learn more about RDYO.

Join the Richmond Delta Youth Orchestra for First Encounter: An instrument petting zoo during BC Culture Days!

This free, drop-in event invites children and families to try out various orchestral instruments hands-on in a welcoming space.

Event Details:

Time: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Location: Atrium, Richmond Culture Centre (7700 Minoru Gate, Richmond, BC) Admission: Free drop-in (No registration required)
Drop by anytime during the session to test out instruments and watch live demonstrations!

The 2026–27 RDYO season begins September 19!

One more week until we’re back together, making music, meeting new friends, taking on new challenges, and starting another year of learning and growing together.

It’s another year of rehearsing together, learning from one another, performing on stage, and growing both as musicians and as a community.

To our returning musicians, we’re so excited to see you again. And to those joining RDYO for the first time, we can’t wait to welcome you!

The countdown is on. We’ll see you in the rehearsal room on September 19. 🎶

Looking Back: RDYO Korea Tour 🇰🇷🇨🇦

In July, RDYO musicians travelled to Tongyeong, South Korea, for a special cultural exchange with Dream Orchestra Tongyeong, culminating in a concert at the Tongyeong International Music Hall (TIMF).

Sharing the stage was just one part of the experience. Our students had the opportunity to connect with young musicians from Korea, experience a different culture, and create memories together through music.

We're grateful to Dream Orchestra Tongyeong and the Tongyeong International Music Hall for being part of this meaningful experience, and to everyone who helped make the journey possible.

As we look back on an unforgettable summer, we're also looking ahead to a new season.
