Toastmasters now offers a 5‑hour Toastmasters Public Speaking Fast Track course on LinkedIn Learning—but it’s not free. It costs USD 4.99, and honestly, it’s worth every cent.

This is ideal for anyone looking to:

An Idyllic Night at Toastmasters!

Even though we started a little later than usual, the room quickly filled with laughter, energy, and heartfelt stories.

We were thrilled to welcome two visiting guests and even more delighted to see Maria back from her amazing trip to France. She shared her vivid memories—museums, food, people, and more. Everything sounded simply unforgettable!

Opening the Meeting
Our warm and cheerful president, Igor, opened the evening with his usual charm, welcoming everyone and introducing our club. Then Toastmaster Burton set the theme: “How was your summer?”
As summer winds down in Canada, it was the perfect chance to relive those bright moments. Burton shared his own story about traveling to Montreal to see his favorite band, Linkin Park—an exciting reminder that our lives are built on stories.

Roles that Shone
Jayne, our energetic Timer, explained her role with enthusiasm, making it clear for our guests who were experiencing Toastmasters for the first time.

Rick, our Grammarian, introduced the elegant word of the day: Idyllic. He even wrote down the pronunciation, and many members used it in their speeches—well done, Rick!

Diana, our Joke Master, had the room in stitches with her hilarious story about her first language. Her Cantonese impression—“like a chicken struck by electricity”—was unforgettable.

Prepared Speech
Manju delivered a powerful and inspiring talk titled “Don’t Believe Everything You Think.” She shared three practical lessons, centered on the key word: Pause. A simple but powerful tool—not just for speaking, but for life itself.

Burton also took on the role of evaluator. He gave thoughtful and constructive feedback, including the clever tip of “just skip the point” when you forget something. He suggested practicing vocal variety by watching YouTube videos—a practical idea we can all use.

Table Topics and More
Table Topics brought a mix of challenging and wonderfully weird questions, sparking creativity and plenty of fun. Congratulations to Diana and Anna, who tied for the win!

Anna also closed the evening as Quiz Master, keeping us on our toes with questions from the meeting and proving we were all paying attention.

Closing Thoughts
All in all, it was a fantastic meeting. Huge thanks to everyone for your energy, passion, and engagement—you are what makes our club stronger every week.

We cannot wait to see you all at the next meeting!

— Secretary James

What a fantastic meeting it was—full of energy, laughter, and great stories! We were joined by familiar faces, long-time friends, and new guests, making the room feel both comfortable and exciting. A big shout-out to Anna, who took on the role of Toastmaster for the very first time! She introduced the theme “Magic of August” in such an engaging way that everyone was inspired to share their own experiences and stories. Special thanks to Burton for stepping in as Timer at the very last minute—despite not loving the role! He delivered a detailed and thorough timer’s report at the end, proving once again what a team player he is. Our Joke Master, Chris, shared one of his favorite jokes that had us all in stitches—definitely one for the books! Vladimir, looking sharp and fully prepared, delivered his speech on “The Magic of Interview” with passion and expertise. He gave us practical techniques to ace any interview, and even wrapped it all up with a clever joke—very creative! Tina, in her second time as Table Topics Master, came ready with a list of fun yet slightly challenging questions about hobbies. The stories people shared—about favorite pastimes, challenges they’ve faced, and hobbies they’d love to try—were inspiring and often hilarious. Our president, Igor, wore many hats tonight. As an evaluator, he offered sharp and insightful feedback on Vladimir’s speech. As VP of Education, he handled club business with clarity and efficiency. Congratulations to Burton and Vladimir for reaching new milestones in their Toastmasters journey—you’re role models for us all! A heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and participated. You make every meeting special. I can’t wait to see you all again next week! Best regards, Secretary James

Guess who’s recommending us now?

At tonight’s meeting, some of our guests shared that when they asked ChatGPT which Toastmasters club to join in the area we came up as the first choice!

We could not agree more.

Between our supportive atmosphere, dynamic speeches, and the energy in the room Fluid Communicators and Leaders is where people come to grow, connect, and have fun doing it.

Want to see why even AI points you our way? Come to our next meeting. You might just find your voice here too.
