As Thrive for Good, we believe organic farming is a powerful solution for transforming lives and communities. It provides healthy and nutritious food, improves soil fertility, and protects the environment from harmful chemicals. Organic farming promotes biodiversity, conserves water, and reduces production costs by using locally available resources. It strengthens household food security, ensuring families have access to fresh vegetables throughout the year. Surplus produce can be sold to generate income and improve livelihoods. Most importantly, organic farming supports sustainable agriculture, empowering families to become self-reliant while preserving natural resources for future generations and creating healthier communities.

One month ago, we successfully trained pastors from various denominations at our Thrive for Good East Africa Training Centre in Kitale, Kenya. Today, we are excited to report that the pastors' program has commenced in several churches, where pastors are now training their congregations in sustainable gardening, nutrition, and community transformation. We are proud to see lives being changed as families improve food security and embrace healthy living through home gardens. As Scripture reminds us, “Then the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east” (Genesis 2:8). Together, we are cultivating hope, health, and lasting community impact.

Through Thrive for Good East Africa, our trainers work closely with communities by mobilizing, educating, and training farmers on sustainable agriculture and healthy living. We teach practical skills such as double digging, proper bed preparation, and improved planting methods for nutrient-rich crops like collards.

We also introduce valuable plants such as mint and artemisia, which are used for food, health, and household wellness, helping create healthier and more productive communities. To support vulnerable households, Thrive for Good East Africa provides seeds and farming tools, empowering families to establish productive gardens and improve their livelihoods.

The impact has been remarkable. Many community members report better nutrition, improved health, and increased household income. Through training, resources, and ongoing support, Thrive for Good East Africa continues to restore hope, strengthen resilience, and promote prosperity in the communities we serve.

At Thrive for Good, we are excited to share the remarkable impact of our work in Malawi! Over the past year, communities around Dazeka have gained access to healthy, nutritious foods through Life Gardens and sustainable farming practices. We are encouraged to see the positive results, including a significant reduction in malnutrition cases. This transformation demonstrates how empowering communities with practical skills in organic farming and nutrition can lead to healthier families, greater food security, and lasting change. We celebrate this progress and look forward to seeing even more lives thrive.

Consistent rainfall can be both a blessing and a challenge to farmers. Through Thrive for Good, we have identified key factors that can help farmers reduce damage caused by excessive rainfall and waterlogging.
✓ Keep the ground covered with mulch, cover crops, or low-growing legumes to reduce soil erosion and splash damage.
✓ Avoid using heavy machinery on wet soil, as it compacts the ground and worsens drainage.
✓ Plant water-tolerant crops such as cabbages, maize, pumpkins, kales, and other leafy greens.
✓ For heavy clay soils, consider raised beds or ridge-and-furrow systems so crops remain above the waterline.
✓ Regularly add organic matter like compost to improve soil structure, allowing water to infiltrate better while retaining enough moisture for plant growth.
The main goal is to move excess water off the field quickly, keep roots away from standing water, and regularly monitor the condition of your crops.
Together, we can build smarter and more resilient farming communities.

As Thrive for Good, we believe that taking fresh vegetables directly from the garden is one of the best ways to improve nutrition and health in our communities. Eating a variety of vegetables provides the body with essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals needed for strong immunity and healthy living. Through kitchen gardens and sustainable farming, families can access fresh, safe, and nutritious food every day while reducing hunger and improving overall well-being in the community.

My name is Mary from Kenya, aged 58. Since I was introduced to Thrive for Good East Africa by their field staff trainer, Metrine Sifuna, my life has greatly changed. Before, it was very difficult for me to provide three meals a day for my family due to limited resources.
I attended a 5-day training workshop on organic farming, and today I am able to grow enough food for my family even on a small piece of land. I can also sell the surplus produce to generate income and support other family needs.
I am truly grateful to the field staff trainer, Metrine Sifuna, and the entire Thrive for Good East Africa team for empowering and transforming my life. Their support has restored hope and given me confidence for a better future.

Meet , whose journey with Thrive for Good began 17 years ago as one of the organization’s very first trainers. In those early days, he stood in small gardens with big faith, teaching families how to grow Life Gardens that prevent disease and restore health through nutrition.
Through his work, communities discovered that food could heal, dignity could be restored, and ordinary people could become agents of lasting change.
His passion and leadership later led him into the role of School Director, where he helped build and lead training programs that equipped thousands of community leaders across Africa. The vision was simple yet powerful: train the trainers, multiply the impact, and place sustainable solutions back into the hands of local communities.
Today, as CEO of Thrive for Good, Mr. Ambrose Motian continues to carry that same conviction on a global scale. The organization works to end hunger and prevent disease by addressing root causes, not just symptoms. From humble garden plots to a movement spanning multiple nations, the mission has remained the same only the reach has grown.
After 17 years, his belief is stronger than ever: when people are taught how to grow their own food, they don’t just improve their health they transform their future.
