Apply for your PI Licence renewal as early as possible. SOLGEN has introduced changes to PI License renewals, which include making it the responsibility of the licence holder to obtain a police report. It has been brought to the CPIO’s attention that some Police Departments are taking a month or more to provide a paper report that needs to be submitted with your renewal application. Don't get caught out and forced to take a break because your license has expired! Start the process 90 days before the expiry date.

Private investigators (P*s) play a significant role as undercover operatives doing corporate due diligence work, insurance fraud detection, and other areas. The work often puts P*s at risk of retaliation from those they investigate. The lack of adequate protection measures compromises their ability to carry out their duties effectively.

The CPIO is urging the provincial government to implement stronger regulations ensuring the safety and anonymity for P*s across Ontario. We need your support to make this change possible. Please sign the petition at https://chng.it/6DLTxDrp7N today!
