Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation Canada is an independent humanitarian organisation, primarily aimed at providing for the needs of orphans in Iraq. Due to the devastating consequences of terrorist attacks within the country beginning 2003, many children have been left orphaned and families have been left devastated. Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation was established in Iraq in 2006, to support and sponsor

these orphans, and provide care for them in all aspects of their needs. Al-Ayn Canada was registered as a non profit organization in Canada in 2016, to work in collaboration with Al-Ayn (Iraq). As of September 2023, around 97662 orphans are sponsored. In additional to monthly financial allowances, the orphans receive medical care, educational support, psychological rehabilitation, recreational activities, and other programs tailored to their needs.

Tahera is 7 years old, and she already knows what she wants to be: a doctor, "to heal people who are suffering."

Her father passed away, leaving her mother Maryam to raise five children alone in Kabul. Her brother developed severe weakness in his eye after the shock of his father's death.

For nearly a year, Al-Ayn's sponsorship program has supported this family - helping Tahera stay in school, supporting her brother's care, and giving her mother the reassurance that she isn't alone.

Through dedicated psychological care and rehabilitation services, 7,839 cases have regained stability after receiving specialised support to help them cope with the emotional impact of loss and challenging circumstances.

Under the guidance of trained professionals, our centres provide holistic mental health support, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other treatment approaches designed to promote healing, resilience, and improved quality of life.

Because caring for children means supporting their emotional wellbeing as much as their physical needs. 💙
