☠️ Respect the Clean-up Crew

You might think Vultures are disease-ridden or gross, but they play a vital role in the world's ecosystems and deserve the same respect as the most beautiful songbird.

Vultures are essentially the clean-up crew of nature! The same way fungi break down rotten trees, vultures process dead animals that otherwise could lead to disease outbreaks. They are specially adapted to be able to eat less-than-ideal meat (so others don't have to), and they keep themselves very clean and healthy. They even evolved to have bald heads so their feathers wouldn't get dirty!

Can you hear me now?

👂️ Owls are well known for their incredible sense of hearing, but did you know that their ears are actually offset on their heads so they can pinpoint sounds better? Humans can tell if a sound came from the left or right based on volume and timing differences between ears. The placement of owls' ears allows them to also tell if a sound is above or below, in front or behind, and do so with pinpoint accuracy in total darkness.
