Whether this is your first Thanksgiving in Canada or your fortieth, we hope you get to spend it with people who feel like home.

This year, we're grateful for the thousands of people who trusted us with their questions, their plans, and their stories, and for the staff, volunteers, partners, and funders who made it possible to be there for them.

Conversation Circles are an entry point to make inroads into Canadian way of life. With support of partners like Aurora Public Library, Ontario we make this possible for so many, session by session. Thank you, APL!

Thank you to the Town of Aurora for delivering an informative session on the 2026 Municipal Election during our English Conversation Circle on October 6.

Participants learned how to find their ward, explore voting options and important election dates, and understand voter eligibility requirements. The session also highlighted resources available to support first-time voters and new Canadians.

Contract until March 31, 2027, $36.22/hour. Support newcomer women affected by gender-based violence. A BSW or MSW is required. Farsi, Urdu, Punjabi, or Hindi is an asset.

On September 28, at Impact Night, our Annual General Meeting, we welcomed CCSYR's 2026–27 Board of Directors.

Three employers who came to our WAGE Conference last year have written to tell us they're supporting it again in 2026. See what they said in the photos.

Include HER brings together employers in skilled trades and male-dominated industries, suppliers, training institutions, champions and mentors, all in one room. It's the only WAGE conference in York Region this year.

What does belonging look like? For Ontario Culture Days, it looked like a canvas covered in handprints.

At the Richmond Hill Welcome Centre, we invited community members to add their handprint to one large canvas. Each print is different, and together they make a colourful picture of the diversity, unity, and connections that make our community stronger.

Thank you to everyone who took part. Follow us for the next community event, because there's always room for one more handprint.

We're hiring. CCSYR's Women's Initiatives team is looking for a Contract Social Worker to support newcomer and underserved women through case management, emotional support, and connections to housing, legal, medical, and employment services.

It's a contract through March 31, 2027, at $36.22/hour for 37.5 hours/week. The work is based at our High Tech Rd. office in Richmond Hill, with travel across York Region. A BSW or MSW with registration at the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers is required. Farsi, Urdu, Punjabi, or Hindi is an asset.
