Revelstoke Community Foundation The Revelstoke Community Foundation is the official legacy project, chosen in 1999, for our city's 100th birthday of incorporation. All for community.

The Revelstoke Community Foundation is the official centennial legacy project chosen in 1999, for our city's 100th birthday of incorporation. It is managed by a board of directors who are appointed and elected representing a broad range of community interests. The board of directors ensures that funds are invested pruently and that revenues generated are annually injected back into our community through a variety of projects. Grant making decisions are made carefully each year based on the community's most current needs and wants.

As Revelstoke welcomes its newly elected municipal leadership, we want to recognize everyone who helped shape this election.

To our outgoing Mayor and Councillors, thank you for your dedication and service to our community. To those newly elected, congratulations! We look forward to working together to help Revelstoke thrive.

To every candidate who put their name forward, thank you for your courage, commitment and willingness to serve. And to everyone who took the time to vote, thank you for making your voice heard.

Strong communities are built by people who care enough to get involved. Since 1999, the Revelstoke Community Foundation has been supported by neighbours, businesses and volunteers who share that spirit, and we’re proud to keep investing in the people and organizations that make Revelstoke home.

From all of us at the Revelstoke Community Foundation, thank you!

Happy Thanksgiving, Revelstoke. 🧑

Today, we're pausing to say thank you.

To the neighbours who give, whether it's $10 or $10,000. To the volunteers who show up. To the local businesses who stand behind this community year after year. And to the charities who do the quiet, essential work that keeps Revelstoke feeling like home.

Since 1999, this community has given back over $2.2 million to local charities and RSS graduates. That didn't happen because of one person or one gift. It happened because of all of you.

Whatever you're gathering around today, whether it's a full table, a quiet evening, or a walk by the river, we hope it's filled with warmth.

Thank you for being part of what makes Revelstoke special. We are so grateful for you.

Some gifts are planted today and grow for generations. πŸŒ²πŸ’œ

Think about the people who made Revelstoke what it is. The neighbours who volunteered, gave, and built things they knew they might never see finished.

A legacy gift to the Revelstoke Community Foundation lets you do the same. By including us in your will, you can keep supporting the causes you love, honour someone who mattered to you, and help future generations of Revelstoke charities and graduates.

Since 1999, Revelstoke has given back over $2.2 million in grants and scholarships. Legacy gifts help make sure that story never stops.

You don't need to be wealthy to leave a legacy. You just need to care about this community.

This week we've shared four ways to give: monthly, securities, annual, and legacy. Whichever fits you, thank you for being part of this community. 🌟

One gift a year. Thousands of reasons it matters. πŸ’œ

Not every gift has to be monthly or complex. For many Revelstoke families and businesses, giving once a year is a tradition: at year-end, on a birthday, or in honour of someone they love.

When you make an annual gift to the Revelstoke Community Foundation, you help support the charities and graduates who make this community stronger.

Since 1999, Revelstoke has given back over $2.2 million in grants and scholarships to local charities and RSS graduates. Annual donors are a big part of that story.

✨ Gifts that fit your year
✨ Give at the end of the year
✨ Give in honour of someone special
✨ Make it a family or team tradition

🏒 Local business? Join our Friends of the Foundation program with an annual $100 donation. It helps cover printing for our annual report, newsletters, and event materials, so more of every other gift goes straight to the community.

Small gifts. Steady impact. πŸ’œ

Big change in Revelstoke doesn't always start with a big cheque. Often it starts with a small gift that shows up every month.

When you give monthly to the Revelstoke Community Foundation, you help us plan ahead, respond to what our community needs, and keep supporting local charities and graduates year after year.

✨ $10 a month = $120 a year
✨ $25 a month = $300 a year
✨ $50 a month = $600 a year

Since 1999, Revelstoke has given back over $2.2 million in grants and scholarships to local charities and RSS graduates. Monthly donors help keep that going.

It's easy to set up, easy to change, and it all stays right here in Revelstoke.

Your portfolio could be your biggest gift to Revelstoke. πŸ“ˆπŸ’œ

Did you know you can give to the Revelstoke Community Foundation through publicly traded stocks, mutual funds, and other securities?

Here's why many donors love this way of giving:
✨ No capital gains tax on the donated securities, which means more of your gift goes to work in the community
✨ A donation receipt for the full value of the gift
✨ A bigger impact for the same cost to you

Since 1999, Revelstoke has given back over $2.2 million in grants and scholarships to local charities and RSS graduates. Gifts of securities help us keep that going for years to come.

It's simpler than it sounds, and we're happy to walk you through it.

Everyone's situation is different, so we recommend speaking with your financial advisor to see if a gift of securities is right for you.

Giving looks different for everyone, and we're sharing a new way to give each day this week. 🌟

Three years. Three incredible organizations. One stronger Revelstoke. πŸ’œ

As the Community Prosperity Fund wraps up, we're so proud to celebrate what this opportunity made possible: $145,000 granted to three local organizations doing essential work in our community.

πŸ¦‹ Revelstoke Women's Shelter received $85,000 for their Mental Health Matters Program, helping people find support and healing when they need it most.

🐻 Revelstoke Bear Aware received $45,000 to grow their gleaning program and strengthen their operations.

🌲 Revelstoke Trees for Tots Society received $15,000 to help local families travel for specialized medical care that isn't available close to home.

Behind every dollar are people showing up for their neighbours. Thank you to the Revelstoke Women's Shelter, Revelstoke Bear Aware, and Revelstoke Trees for Tots for the heart you put into this community every day.

A huge thank you as well to our partners at the Vancouver Foundation and the Government of BC, whose collaboration made this funding possible.

This is what happens when a community invests in itself: the impact lasts long after the funding ends. 🌟

Giving back to the community we love πŸ’œ

In 2024, the Government of BC announced the Community Prosperity Fund as a $25 million investment, delivered through the Vancouver Foundation and over 50 local community foundations, to support local organizations that reduce poverty and build social inclusion, with funding decisions made right here in our community.

The Revelstoke Community Foundation is proud to have awarded $15,000 in Community Prosperity Funding to the Revelstoke Trees for Tots Society, a three-year allocation (2024-2026) supporting families who need to travel outside our community for specialized medical services.

This multi-year funding gives Trees for Tots the stability to keep supporting families through what is often an already stressful time. Living in a small community means specialized medical care often means time away, travel costs, and logistics on top of everything else a family is already managing - this funding helps ease that burden so families can focus on what matters most.

Thank you to the Trees for Tots team for the compassion and care they bring to families in our community, and to our partners for making this funding possible.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the survivors, and their families and communities.

Orange Shirt Day began with Phyllis Webstad's story, and it reminds us that every child matters. Reconciliation is not a single day. It is an ongoing commitment to listen, to learn the truth about our shared history, and to act.

At the Revelstoke Community Foundation, we are grateful to live, work and give on the traditional territories of the Sinixt, the Ktunaxa, the SecwΓ©pemc, and the Syilx Okanagan Peoples. We recognize that strong communities are built on respect, relationship and accountability, and we are committed to continuing to learn and to reflect on how we can do better.

The Revelstoke Community Foundation is proud to have awarded $45,000 in Community Prosperity Funding to Revelstoke Bear Aware, a three-year allocation (2024-2026) supporting their gleaning program and operational needs.

This multi-year funding gives Revelstoke Bear Aware the stability to plan ahead and keep their programs running consistently. Their gleaning program plays a real role in reducing human-wildlife conflict in our community - by helping residents harvest excess fruit before it attracts bears, it keeps both people and wildlife safer.

Thank you to the Revelstoke Bear Aware team for the work they do to keep our community and our wildlife safe, and to our partners for making this funding possible.

Stay tuned for information on our final recipient of this incredible funding.
