We’re always excited to see club projects come to life.

The Wells Snowmobile Club has been hard at work on upgrades at Groundhog Lake, and it’s a great example of something happening in communities across BC.

Volunteer-driven snowmobile clubs are investing significant time, expertise and resources into public recreation infrastructure — creating and maintaining places that are enjoyed by far more than just snowmobilers.

And that investment reaches well beyond the trail. It supports rural economies and jobs, contributes to quality of life in our communities, and puts people on the ground caring for the places where we recreate.

All driven by volunteers. No cost to government. No cost to taxpayers.

Pretty incredible when you look at the bigger picture.

Great work, Wells Snowmobile Club. We can’t wait to see this project come together.

A positive step for outdoor recreation in B.C.

Two priorities advanced by the BCSF and BC Powersports Coalition are now reflected in formal Budget 2027 recommendations: predictable investment in outdoor recreation and protecting high-value recreation access roads before they are lost.

These recommendations aren’t funding commitments yet, but they are an important step forward.

The Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations is calling on the federal government to invest $55 million in snowmobile trail infrastructure across Canada and to make winter trails eligible for future federal infrastructure and climate funding.

Across the country, 131,000 kilometers of volunteer-managed snowmobile trails connect communities, support tourism and rural economies, and provide important recreation and emergency access. But much of the infrastructure behind those trails — bridges, culverts, signage and grooming equipment — is aging, while extreme weather continues to add new pressures.

Now is an opportunity for riders to speak up.

CCSO has made it easy to send a letter directly to your MP and key federal ministers. It takes about two minutes, and adding a few words about what snowmobile trails mean to your community can make it even more powerful.

Work started on 10-K cabin repair. Brandon Davies and helpers removed metal siding and got cabin off the ground and level. Still work to do and new metal siding to be installed. One of the helpers showed up in a Helicopter... some sledders are extra cool !

Another sector. Another call for a better approach to Forest Service Roads.

While this article focuses on mineral exploration, the issue extends far beyond any one industry. These roads provide critical access for recreation, tourism, resource management, and communities across British Columbia.

It's another reminder that the future of Forest Service Roads deserves thoughtful planning—not one-size-fits-all solutions.

We’re pleased to be on site today with Sled McBride MBCSA (McBride Big Country Snowmobile Association), supporting the next steps toward restoring access to the Renshaw riding area.

It was great to meet with the project team and contractors as work continues to move this important bridge project forward. While there’s still work ahead, today’s progress is another positive step, and we’re looking forward to sharing more updates as the project advances.

A sincere thank you to everyone involved who has worked together on this file. This project is a great example of what can be accomplished through collaboration, persistence, and a shared commitment to outdoor recreation in British Columbia.

Wildfire season has become an all-too-familiar part of life in British Columbia.

At the BC Snowmobile Federation, we work year-round with our member clubs and partners to help protect recreation infrastructure and build the relationships needed before emergencies happen.

But today, our thoughts are simply with the people.

To our clubs, volunteers, members, and communities facing wildfire impacts across the province... we're thinking of you. Stay safe, look after one another, and thank you to everyone working tirelessly to protect our communities.

How close is too close for comfort? 🔥

This photo really put it into perspective.

The Honeymoon Cabin remains in the safe zone, but you can clearly see just how close the wildfire came. The burned area reached right up to the front of the cabin, a powerful reminder of how quickly conditions can change and how fortunate we are.

We’re incredibly grateful to the wildfire crews, aviation teams, and everyone involved in protecting this area. Their hard work and dedication have made all the difference.

We’ll continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as they become available. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages of support for our trails, cabins, and riding areas.

Congratulations to the Timberline Cruisers Snowmobile Club on helping celebrate 50 years of Tulameen Days, and here's to an exciting milestone ahead as the club prepares to celebrate 30 years in 2026.

To every volunteer who has given their time, energy, and heart to build strong clubs and strong communities—thank you. You're what keeps organized snowmobiling thriving across British Columbia.
