A comment section can generate a lot of opinions. What it can't do is replace showing up when decisions are being made.

Across BC, decisions about resource roads, land-use planning, and public access are shaping the future of snowmobiling. And you have more power to influence that future than you probably realize.

With BC's provincial election approaching, one of the most important things you can do is vote. **Know the issues, know where your candidates stand, and show up at the ballot box.**

Because the future of backcountry access isn't going to be decided in the comments section.

💙 Some of the best things in life don't need much explaining.

Fresh snow. Good company. A cabin full of familiar faces. That first glimpse of the mountains on a bluebird morning.

And a province that gives us some pretty incredible places to make memories.

There's a lot to be thankful for out here.

Let's talk about what your snowmobile club membership actually supports.

Sure, there's grooming. And cabins. And trails.

But there's also insurance, land agreements, safety programs, volunteer coordination, government relations, and a fair amount of paperwork nobody's lining up to do.

Then there's the bigger picture.

When your club is part of the BC Snowmobile Federation, it's connected to a provincial network working on issues that extend well beyond any single riding area.

Your membership helps support the local work AND strengthens the collective voice of snowmobilers across BC.

Not bad for something that also helps make your weekends a whole lot better.

Ever heard someone say, "I wonder when the club is going to fix that?"

Here's the thing. You are the club.

Not just the board. Not just the groomer operator. Not just the handful of volunteers who somehow seem to be everywhere at once. All of us.

Every membership, every volunteer hour, every person who shows up helps make snowmobiling possible. And when clubs across BC come together, that collective effort becomes something even bigger.

Pretty remarkable what we can do when we gather.

If you had five minutes with an election candidate, what would you ask them about the future of snowmobiling in BC?

We're putting some kilometres on the BCSF truck, and this week we're in Kamloops, pressing candidates on where they stand on land access, outdoor recreation, and the issues that matter to BC snowmobilers.

And of course, we couldn't roll through town without catching up with the Kamloops Snowmobile Association! Another great club doing some fantastic work for their local snowmobiling community.

None of these kilometres happen without some great partners behind us. A big thanks to Bannister Automotive, Acera Insurance, and Limitless Decks for helping us get out across the province and keep these important conversations moving.

CLUB SPOTLIGHT | KAMLOOPS SNOWMOBILE ASSOCIATION

Founded in 1973, the Kamloops Snowmobile Association has built a pretty remarkable legacy in BC's Interior. Today, its volunteers help maintain more than 180 kilometres of groomed trails, warming shelters and access to some incredible backcountry terrain on the Tranquille Plateau.

It's the kind of work that doesn't always get noticed. The hours spent grooming, clearing trails, maintaining shelters, putting up signs and making sure everything is ready when the snow arrives.

But it hasn't gone entirely unnoticed. In 2020, KSA was named BC's Snowmobile Club of the Year, going on to earn the Canadian Snowmobile Club of the Year award in 2021.

More than five decades of volunteer commitment, community and a shared love of snowmobiling. That's something worth celebrating.

Here's to the volunteers and members of the Kamloops Snowmobile Association. Thanks for everything you do!
