As temperatures increase, the snowpack stability can decrease. It's about to get warm for many areas over the weekend and into next week, some places still have plenty of snow so be sure to think about avalanche risk and overhead hazard if you're getting into the backcountry.

This video from Mt Garibaldi yesterday is a reminder that avalanches are still possible in some areas. The sudden switch from Juneuary to summer weather is having a destabilizing effect on the snowpack, so be sure to plan for changing conditions if you're still getting after it.
