The local Army Cadets spent the day at the Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club, snowshoeing the incredible trails while learning essential cold-weather safety skills. The Nordic Club provided well-maintained equipment, and the expertly groomed trails offered just the right level of challenge—pushing everyone outside their comfort zone while still being thoroughly enjoyable. Despite the effort, spirits stayed high and everyone had a great time.

Lunch was a field test of meals from locally owned Backcountry Gourmet. As self-declared freeze-dried ration experts, the verdict was clear: 9 out of 10 cadets gave them two thumbs up. The tenth cadet was too busy eating to provide a formal review.

Did you know the Revelstoke Army Cadets meet every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 in Room 104 at the college? The program is open to youth ages 12–18, completely free to join, and packed with more adventures in the weeks and months ahead.

Over the holidays, Law Enforcement intercepted several groups heading for Grizzly Shoulder while East Rogers was CLOSED. 🚫 Grizzly Shoulder is IN the East Rogers Winter Restricted Area.

🧠 Remember: It’s your responsibility to know where you are at all times.

💥 Winter Restricted Areas are impacted by the highway avalanche control program and include the targets for live explosives, the surrounding blast radius and additional avalanche paths that may be triggered. Not a place to accidentally wander into. 😬
