At our next meeting we are going to attend a presentation by the District to learn more about the Pathways educational program and the changes that are going to be taking place.

As our world changes, so too does the Toastmasters program, adapting to the needs of the members and those around them. For years Toastmasters was only held in person, but then came the pandemic and clubs had to find new ways to meet - thus online clubs were born.

Now there are many clubs around the world that are online, including the Renfrew Toastmasters and Pembroke Toastmasters clubs. This means that you can join a club anywhere in the world. We currently have two members from New York and other clubs have members from other countries. This can't happen in person.

If you are interested in learning more about Toastmasters, simply DM us or go to toastmasters.org and "find a club".

Was reading about this weekend and the Renfrew Craft Beer Festival. I found the video of the musician who played at the first one - for 3 hours in the cold. Aerik Watson - He is a dedicated musician for sure.

Tuesday Sept 16th was Play Doh Day. Here is a response from a club member (Pam Hamilton) from the Pembroke Club in her newsletter.

Did you know that last Tuesday was Play-Doh day? Seriously, it really was. And it was the theme for my online Toastmasters meeting too.

I got to do the toast for the meeting. And, I wanted to share it here with you because it applies so much to what we do here.

My Toastmaster toast - (Skipping the good evening formalities - Lol)

Today, we raise a glass—not to champagne or chocolate—but to that squishy, colorful lump of joy we all remember from childhood: Play-Doh.

Now, I don’t know about you, but Play-Doh taught me a lot more than how to make lopsided snowmen and questionable spaghetti.

It taught me that life is moldable.

That no matter how flat, twisted, or completely smooshed things get—there’s always a way to reshape it into something new.

Play-Doh never worried about being perfect. It didn’t ask for permission to be bold or bright. It just was—a joyful mess with unlimited potential.

Wouldn’t it be something if we let ourselves live that way?

More curiosity, less comparison.

More creativity, less control.
More play, less pressure.

So today, I invite you to remember the wisdom of that humble can of dough: Stay soft. Stay flexible. And above all—keep creating.

Because no matter your age, background, or how many times life has tried to roll you flat… you can always rise, reshape, and start again.

To Play-Doh—and the beautiful, imperfect art of becoming.

Cheers!
