oviding care to our loved ones. Dame Cicely Saunders, from Great Britain, led the resurgence of care for the terminally ill in the mid-1960s. The palliative care movement began in Canada in the mid-1970’s and is now known as Hospice Palliative Care with “aims to relieve suffering and improve the quality of living and dying”. Hospice Renfrew provides 24-hour nursing care, with physician support, at no cost to the resident in a tranquil setting where family and friends can be an integral part of the care. Hospice Renfrew has 6 private bedrooms equipped with special comfortable beds and private washrooms. Each room has a large window that brings the nature of the valley close, with views of gardens, trees, deer, and birds.
