If you sit down, Simba wants to be touching you. If you change rooms, he’ll probably follow! This sweet, goofy boy has enough cuddles for the whole Village and is looking for a family to share them with. 🥹

📏 Size: Medium (26–59 lbs)
🐕 Breed: Mixed breed
💛 Temperament: Gentle, Friendly, Quiet & Goofy
🎾 Activity Level: Playful puppy energy, with a calmer side after exercise
🐶 Dogs: Loves them! He will do best with a friendly, confident companion.
🐱 Cats: No; high prey drive
👧 Kids: Older or very dog-savvy children preferred
🏡 Home Requirements: Securely fenced yard, confident canine companion, and patient humans committed to training

Simba loves romping with other dogs, and he’s good at listening when a playmate needs a break. A canine friend isn’t just a bonus: having one helps him feel safe and confident. Once playtime is over, he’s happiest snuggled close to his people, preferably with as little space between you as possible. 😂

His family will need to keep working on his training as he was not set up for success in his first home, but he is smart, eager to learn, and making lovely progress! Give this affectionate boy exercise, routine, patience, and a doggy sibling, and he’ll bring you laughter, loyalty, and a truly impressive number of cuddles. 💛

How has everyone else been chosen… while Stella is still waiting? 💔🐾

Stella has watched foster sibling after foster sibling head off to their forever homes. She has welcomed new dogs, made new friends, watched them get adopted… and somehow, this beautiful, gentle girl is still waiting for someone to realize that she could be their dog.

And goodness, is she worth noticing. ❤️

🌈 Charlie, you stayed longer than anyone dared hope. Somehow, it still wasn’t nearly long enough. 🤍

Our Village is saying goodbye to one of our most beloved little characters.

When Charlie’s foster mom first met him, he was falling asleep standing up. She worried this tired little senior might not have much time left.

That was years ago.

Charlie, in true Charlie fashion, had absolutely no intention of following anyone else’s timeline.

He went home with a family who opened their hearts to an old dog without knowing whether they would have him for weeks, months, or longer. And then something beautiful happened.

They got years.

Years of walks and backyard adventures. Cottage days and snacks. Soft beds, deep sleeps, senior dog siblings, and so much laughter.

Years of simply getting to be Charlie.

And what a gift those years were.

Charlie came into rescue when no one could promise how much life he had ahead of him. His family chose him anyway. They never treated him like a dog waiting for the end. They gave him a life worth waking up for every single day.

They gave him adventures.

They gave him comfort.

They gave him family.

They gave him years of being completely and unquestionably loved.

There is something especially sacred about loving a palliative dog. You know from the beginning that your heart will eventually break, and you make room for them anyway. You choose to let the love be bigger than the fear of losing them.

Charlie’s family did that for him, over and over, for years.

And we could not be more thankful.

To Nicola and the rest of Charlie’s forever foster family: we are holding you so incredibly close right now. We know that the little dog we adored was woven through the fabric of your everyday life. Your home, your routines, your walks, your cottage days, your other dogs, your laughter. There will be a Charlie-shaped space in all of those places now, and our hearts ache with yours.

Thank you for seeing him.

Thank you for choosing him.

Thank you for giving an old dog who might have had very little time left one of the fullest final chapters imaginable.

Sweet Charlie, our funny little gargoyle-gremlin, you were loved so much more than you could ever have known.

By your family.

By your Village.

By all of us who were lucky enough to watch you keep proving, year after year, that an old dog can still have so much life left to live.

We would always have taken more.

But what an extraordinary gift it was to have you for as long as we did.

Rest peacefully, Charlie. You were home. You were cherished. And you are so deeply missed. 🌈🤍

This handsome, sensitive boy has been waiting far too long for the right person to find him.

Messi is the kind of dog who can happily join you for an adventure and then come home and settle in for a gloriously uneventful couch day. Once he trusts you, he is deeply affectionate, loyal and an absolutely world-class snuggler. 🥹

What a wonderful day of nail trims across the Village! 🐶🐱🐰🐹

These adorable photos are just a little peek at some of the furry friends who stopped by for a fresh paw-dicure at Global Pet Foods Orleans today! 💅🐾 Thank you to everyone who brought their dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs out to see us!

But the love doesn’t stop in Orléans! We also had two other nail trim events happening today, and we have a whole lot of wonderful people to thank! 💕

🐾 CLOUDY LEADS THE ADVENTURES. MILO LEADS AT HOME. TOGETHER, THEY’RE INSEPARABLE! ❤️

Meet Cloudy (4) and Milo (6), two bonded Northern Mix boys looking for one forever home, together!

📏 Small breed

🌲 Cloudy loves being outside, then turns into a cuddler indoors.

💙 Milo is the indoor leader of this playful little duo.

✅ Both house-trained AND crate-trained!

👧 Both have been incredibly patient with children.

🐱 Currently sharing their foster home with cats.

🏡 Their dream home? Somewhere quieter, ideally in the country or a neighbourhood with fewer dogs. They can be reactive when they see other dogs, so a less dog-busy setting would suit them best. A fenced yard would be lovely, but isn’t required.

These best friends come as a pair. One home, two happy hearts! 💕
