🙌 What we hold in our hands matters.

A blanket can warm a body. A bar of soap can cleanse the skin. But when they are made by women reclaiming their independence, they do something more — they restore dignity.

🫆 Our newest sari throws and handcrafted soaps from Bangladesh are created by women artisans rebuilding their lives through meaningful, dignified work. Each throw is stitched from recycled cotton saris using traditional kantha embroidery. Each soap carries the thumbprint of the woman who made it — her "sacred mark", her pride, her proof of a future she is shaping herself.

❤️ SARI & SOAP SPOTLIGHT: A beautiful "Sacred Mark" restock

This week, I’m so grateful to share that five new sari throw blankets have arrived from the incredible women of Sacred Mark in Bangladesh — along with a new line of organic, natural soaps they now create.

🫆Sacred Mark is a group of women who have left the s*x trade and rebuilt their lives through self-taught handiwork — kantha stitching, sari blankets, and now soap making. What began as survival has become skill, artistry, and community.

Each blanket is one-of-a-kind, reversible, hand-stitched, and truly a work of art, made from upcycled saris and layered with care. Fair trade handiwork like this helps break cycles of dependency, poverty, vulnerability, and abuse — and supports a living wage for these determined artisans.

🙏 The new blankets and soaps will be on website this weekend... For now, I just wanted to share this beautiful restock and reconnect. Thank you for continuing to support work rooted in dignity, resilience, and hope!

😍 SWEET SOAPSTONE SPOTLIGHT: Shining a light on a long-time Heart in Hand favourite!

To those who have already collected turtles, owls, hippos, rhino, zebras, puffins, hummingbirds, hearts (and more!), you already know…

These soapstone pieces are hand-carved in Kenya by the artisans of the Tabaka Chigware Self-Help Group. Each piece is shaped and polished by hand, one at a time, with incredible skill and care.

What makes their work even more meaningful is what it supports beyond the craft itself. Proceeds from soapstone sales help ensure children in the local community have access to education, shelter, and medical care — strengthening families and futures together.

For those new here, this is the kind of handmade Heart in Hand is built on. And for those who’ve followed along for a while — thank you 🙏 for continuing to support work rooted in dignity, care, and connection!

This lovely customer has chosen handmade baskets again and again — from Ghana to Senegal. She loves baskets, yes, but she also deeply believes in the women behind them.

I’m always moved by how quietly and consistently some people choose to support others, across borders and cultures. This gentle kind of support is what Heart in Hand is all about.
