Ji-gaabiikwe had the honour of facilitating the 1st session of Walking Together: Indigenous Grief & Loss Healing, a six-week healing journey designed to create a safe and supportive space to explore grief, loss, resilience, and healing.

As a Sixties Scoop Survivor and community wellness facilitator, she brings both professional experience and lived understanding to this work. To accompany the program, Ji-gaabiikwe also created a participant workbook that includes Indigenous teachings, reflection activities, journaling prompts, and healing exercises. Her hope is that both the circle and the workbook will support participants in reconnecting with their strengths, culture, community, and spirit, while reminding them that grief is not meant to be carried alone.

Through shared stories, cultural teachings, and collective support, participants are invited to walk together on a path toward healing and hope.

Sometimes healing begins with knowing there is a safe place to turn. Thankful for the opportunity to connect with students and remind them that seeking support is a sign of strength.
