Our second Lunch and Learn event of the year features “NWMO – Who We Are,” presented by Dorian Charette.

Dorian is a Senior Communications Officer in the Public Relations department at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) and serves as the President of the North American Young Generation in Nuclear - NWMO Chapter.

He will share an overview of NWMO’s mission and its work in nuclear waste management, including current initiatives and ongoing research. Attendees will also gain valuable insights into career opportunities at NWMO, with guidance tailored for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students interested in entering the organization. Furthermore, attendees will learn about practical skills that matter in roles related to the nuclear industry.

🎉 Exciting News from NAYGN University of Regina Chapter! 🎉

Our first ever event - Lunch and Learn with SaskPower was a great success! It featured Hélène Careau to share about the nuclear industry in Saskatchewan!
🔹 Over 50+ nuclear enthusiasts have attended!
🔹 Insightful presentation on SMRs and BWXR-300
🔹 Engaging Q&A session
🔹 Networking over pizza

Hélène delivered a remarkable lecture which made the audience interested in the nuclear industry. Her presentation focused particularly on Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and the potential for the BWXR-300 in Saskatchewan.

The presentation was followed by a Q&A session where the audience asked a range of questions about the nuclear industry.

A big thank you to SaskPower, Professor Arthur Situm and all attendees for making this a success!
