This week’s Athlete of the Week is Dawson Danberg of Swift Current, SK who put together a strong week in the Junior Steer Riding with results at two Saskatchewan stops.

Danberg started his week at the Arcola Roughstock, where he pulled together a 75.5 point ride to grab 1st place and earn $549.00. It was a strong start to the week and another big result in his 2026 season.

He then headed to Dodge City Days in Wapella, SK where he followed up his Arcola win with a 4th place finish adding another $54.00 to his season earnings.

Going from the top of the leaderboard in Arcola to another placing in Wapella, Danberg made both opportunities count. Back to back results like these continue to show the consistency he has brought to the Junior Steer Riding throughout the season.

Danberg has now recorded earnings at Wapella, Arcola, Whitewood, Consul, Austin, Elbow and Radville during his 2026 season. With 10 rodeos counting toward his season, he currently holds the number 4 position in the Canadian Cowboys Association Junior Steer Riding standings.

As the road to the 2026 CCA Finals continues, every ride and every dollar earned becomes increasingly important. A win in Arcola followed by another solid result in Wapella helped Danberg strengthen his season and keep himself firmly in the Finals conversation.

With two more successful rides behind him and plenty of rodeo still ahead, Danberg will be one to watch as the season heads toward the Finals.

Congratulations to Dawson Danberg, this week’s Canadian Cowboys Association Athlete of the Week!
