Public education deserves real investment—not cuts in disguise.

Promises made, promises broken. Budget 2026 leaves Saskatchewan students and teachers behind.

Today’s budget provides a 2.6% increase in operating funding for school divisions. However, with rising costs and 700 additional students in our province, this actually represents an inflation-adjusted decrease of $33 per student. This budget should be viewed by students, parents and teachers as a failure and a broken promise.

You’re Invited to RPSTA Mini-Council!

Mini-Council is your chance to discuss the resolutions that will be debated at the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation Annual Meeting of Council. These resolutions cover important topics like finances, bargaining, services, and policy.

The RPSTA sends 26 elected representatives to Council to represent Regina teachers, and Mini-Council gives members the opportunity to share their perspectives before those discussions happen at the provincial level in Saskatoon.

Bonus: We will be ordering food from Italian Star Deli while we connect and talk through the ideas being brought forward.
