Let's celebrate the power of community connection! 🌟 A huge thank you to Lisa Peters for shining a light on the incredible work of Darryn Oldford and Rod McKendrick on Talk of the Town (Access Communications ). Watch their inspiring conversation and share with others to spark positive change! 💡

Just a reminder: referrals are wide open. If you are, or you know someone who is 55+ and would benefit from:
- Connecting with others through social groups, activities, and community connections;
- Exploring available programs, services, and benefits;
- Help finding a way to navigate through food, transportation, finanical or housing challenges
Reach out to Darryn and see if Social Prescribing is right for you (or someone you know) by calling (306) 807-8537 or emailing [email protected].

Note: Social Prescribing is not a crisis service and the person must know about and want to be referred to the Community Coordinator

Exciting news! Social Prescribing in Regina is now open to referrals!
You may remember us sharing information about Social Prescribing and the Community Connector over the past year. Until now, referrals were made through physicians and nurse practitioners from specific clinics.
Now, anyone can make a referral!
Community organizations, service providers, family members, friends — and people themselves — can all connect someone aged 55+ with a Community Connector.
If you know someone who may be feeling isolated, or is looking to meet new people, find activities, learn about helpful supports, or access support to navigate everyday challenges, Social Prescribing may be able to help.
We have two Community Connectors, with one focusing on supporting Indigenous Elders and older adults.
The important thing is that the person knows about the referral and wants to be connected.
Check out the poster below for more information — and please share it with anyone who might benefit!

Growing older is not just about adding years to your life, but also adding life to those years! When we focus on positive aspects of our lives such as gratitude and possibility instead of decline and limitation, we leave space for resilience, curiosity, and growth. Although aging may come with its challenges, a positive mindset can help us adapt with strength and purpose.
