GRR is a volunteer-based organization whose mission is to amplify and empower the voices of female, trans, Two-Spirit and gender-expansive youth and adults through music creation, collaboration and performance. By providing a safer space for creative expression, we cultivate leadership skills and advocate for an equitable and inclusive society. At GRR, you'

ll learn an instrument, form a band, write and record an original song, and perform at a live music venue. In addition to technical training, you'll take part in music and non-music workshops centred on creativity and confidence-building, such as songwriting, image & identity, self-defence, zine-making and more. No musical experience is required!

Let's turn up the volume and get amped for the Queen City Pride Parade, Saturday, June 13. We're usually a small but mighty group and would love to have more campers, mentors, caregivers, friends, and family - everyone is welcome to walk with us!

Here's some general info and pics of the route and where you can find us - note that the route has changed from previous years:

- Check in Location - Conexus Arts Centre
- All participants must be ready and in place for 11:30 am
- Parade will start promptly at 12 pm
- Parade ends approximately 2 pm.
- Parking for participants is at the Conexus Arts Centre (please see map)
- Parade end and disassembly on Lakeshore Drive north of The Meadow, Wascana Park.

Same mission. Bigger signal - Girls Rock Regina is now AMPLIFY REGINA!

As our community has evolved, so has our understanding of who we serve. Our new name better reflects our commitment to amplifying the voices of cis and trans girls and women, Two-Spirit, non-binary and gender-expansive folks through music and performance. A huge thank you to everyone who shared feedback and helped us along our journey. And a big shout-out to Geanna Dunbar for our amazing new logo.

We're excited about where we're headed and want you to come along! We're looking for more folks to join the Board, volunteer and get involved (link in bio).

Join the GRR Board!

With the upcoming announcement of our new name, we’re seeking new Board Members to support us in our new era of community building, empowerment and amplifying the voices of women (cis and trans), two-spirit, and gender-expansive youth and adults.

The Board plans events, budgets finances, and makes rock camp happen. We welcome new and familiar faces and invite you to join us in our movement toward a more equitable future.

We have 2 vacancies with room for more— no previous experience required. Time commitment is usually a few hours a month – and we have a lot of fun! Whether you’re an artist, an organizer, or just someone who believes youth are inherently powerful, we want to hear from you.

We want your suggestions for re-naming GRR!

Our mission has always been to amplify & empower the voices of female, trans, two-spirit, and gender-expansive youth and adults, but the “girl” in our name did not reflect that. We need a name that accurately describes the expansiveness of our community.

Since 2022, we’ve gone by “GRR” instead of “Girls Rock Regina” while we reflect and strategize how to move forward. We’re ready to start brainstorming new name ideas, and we want to hear from you!

Visit the form linked in our bio to submit name suggestions. This form closes Saturday, February 7th, so send us your ideas before then!

This is just the first step in our process, so remember to stay tuned for more.
