What an incredible milestone! ✨

This year marked our 4th Annual Indigenous Artisan Market, in partnership with YQR – Regina International Airport, SaskPower, and the Canada Border Services Agency.

Each year, this event continues to build momentum, grow in size, and create new opportunities to celebrate Indigenous culture, artistry, and entrepreneurship. We can't wait to see what Year 5 will bring!

YQR was the first airport in Canada—and possibly North America—to host an event of this kind, honouring Indigenous history while showcasing the talents of Indigenous artisans and entrepreneurs. We are proud and grateful to be part of this meaningful journey of reconciliation and partnership.

One of the most rewarding moments is seeing travelers arrive in Regina and be welcomed by the sights and sounds of Indigenous culture through drumming, dancing, and local vendors. These experiences create lasting impressions and provide a powerful opportunity to share and celebrate the richness of Indigenous traditions.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's market such a success. Together, we continue to honour, uplift, and celebrate Indigenous peoples and communities. ❤️🖤💛🤍

🏨🧡 Honouring Partnership, Community, and Reconciliation 🧡🏨

We are proud to recognize and thank our valued partners at Hotel Saskatchewan for their outstanding support of our organization, our community, and our ongoing reconciliation journey.

Over the years, the Hotel Saskatchewan team has consistently gone above and beyond—not only by welcoming us into their remarkable space for conferences, gatherings, and special events, but by showing up in our community. Whether through volunteering at our events, supporting our initiatives, or helping us create meaningful experiences for our guests and participants, their commitment has never gone unnoticed.

True partnership is about more than providing a venue. It’s about building relationships, sharing knowledge, and creating spaces where people feel welcomed, respected, and connected. We appreciate the Hotel Saskatchewan team’s willingness to engage in reconciliation efforts and their commitment to fostering understanding and inclusion.

A special thank you to everyone at Hotel Saskatchewan who works behind the scenes and alongside us to ensure our events are successful. Your professionalism, generosity, and dedication make a lasting impact on our organization and the communities we serve.

We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to continuing this important work together.

🏈🧡 💚Honouring Reconciliation Through Relationship and Respect 🏈🧡💚

We are proud to once again recognize the Saskatchewan Roughriders for their ongoing commitment to reconciliation and their efforts to celebrate and elevate Indigenous culture throughout Rider Nation.

Over the years, we have had the honour of presenting meaningful gifts that reflect our culture and traditions. From beaded bow ties and bolo ties to this year’s beaded medallions, proudly presented by our Executive Director, each piece has been created with purpose, respect, and appreciation for the relationships being built through reconciliation.

We deeply appreciate the Saskatchewan Roughriders for embracing opportunities to learn, engage, and celebrate Indigenous culture in authentic and meaningful ways. Reconciliation is a journey, and it is encouraging to see organizations continue to show their commitment through action and partnership.

A special thank you to Elder Howie Thomson for sharing the teachings and significance of gifting within Indigenous culture. Your wisdom helps create a deeper understanding of the importance of these exchanges and the relationships they represent.

Also, a special thank you to Sage Customs for once again bringing our vision to life and creating beautiful handcrafted gifts that honour both culture and connection. Your talent and attention to detail make these presentations truly special.

Thank you to the Saskatchewan Roughriders for your continued support, partnership, and dedication to building stronger relationships with Indigenous communities.

🏈🧡💚

Today, we celebrate two important occasions: Father’s Day and National Indigenous Peoples Day.

On Father’s Day, we recognize and celebrate all the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, mentors, and father figures who provide love, guidance, strength, and support to their families and communities. Thank you for the important role you play in shaping future generations.

Today is also National Indigenous Peoples Day, a time to honour and celebrate the cultures, languages, traditions, histories, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. It is an opportunity to recognize the strength, resilience, and wisdom of Indigenous communities and to continue learning, listening, and building meaningful relationships.

At NYFC, we are proud to celebrate the people, families, and communities that make our region strong.

Please note that our offices will be closed on Monday, June 22, in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day. We will reopen during regular business hours on Tuesday, June 23.

We wish everyone a safe, joyful, and meaningful day of celebration and reflection.
