Vision: By 2020, we will be Regina's preferred choice for local music, arts, culture, and issues. Our state-of-the-art technology, our expanded diverse and interactive programming, our support of cultural activity, and our high visibility are possible through new and expanded revenue streams. We will nurture and develop skills of volunteers and staff to meet our future needs. Core business: Radius Communications operates a community radio station that broadcasts on the FM band to the city of Regina and surrounding communities, and to the world via the Internet. This community radio station is governed by leadership elected from the organization's membership, which is open to all those who share its purpose. Regina's community radio station operates within federal broadcast regulations, providing information and entertainment, as well as an opportunity for greater community involvement and interaction. Radius Communications is a registered non-profit corporation. The community radio station is supported by its membership, by community and corporate donations, by program sponsorships, and through the sale of advertising. Values: In striving to achieve our mission, the policies and day-to-day operations of Radius Communications are governed by the following core values: • We emphasize choice, distinctiveness and uniqueness. • We are open-minded and supportive of creativity in our community. • We involve the community in radio programming. • We strive for balance, working to serve a broad segment of the community. • We strive to produce consistently high-quality community radio programming. Product: • Community radio does not duplicate existing radio programming; it is an alternative which will expand radio-listening options within the city. • We offer an eclectic, wide-ranging selection of music, as well as spoken word performance, sports, public affairs, education, health and other types of broadcast content relevant to the community. • We focus on artists currently working outside the broadcast mainstream, with a specific emphasis on local and regional artists and events. • We strive to maintain close links with the community, and between our volunteer programmers and their listening audience. • We attempt to make community radio accessible to all individuals and groups who contribute to Regina's cultural and community life. • We offer a low-cost option for businesses and organizations to deliver their message to the community.
